Friend Framed Florets Card

With spring around the corner and inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge of Fresh Freesia, Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue I created this card with the Framed Florets bundle.

I love the color Fresh Freesia and sad it will be retiring soon. I cased this card from page 65 of the mini catalog. These inspiration colors together were perfect for creating a card with Framed Florets bundle. The card base is Fresh Freesia card stock and stamped the background with Fresh Freesia. I used the gold metallic paper for the frame and added Wink of Stella to the flowers. The inside oval I die cut from Shimmer White and water-colored with Fresh Freesia. The sentiment is stamped in black StazOn.

Adorable Owls and Dainty Flowers

I have just now gotten a chance to play with my new Sale-a-bration products – Adorable Owls stamp set and Dainty Flowers DSP. Both these products are a FREE during Sale-a-bration which ends February 28, 2023. You earn one FREE item with $50 purchase. I was inspired to create this card with the sketch challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I used the beautiful watercolor design of the Dainty Flowers DSP for the background and used the flying owl image. I colored the owl with Mossy Meadow light and dark and Light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends.

I stamped the owl image on Basic White with Memento Black ink. The stitched circle is from retired dies Stitched Shapes Framelits which you can substitute the Stylish Shapes Dies or the Layering Circles with no stitch both these die sets currently in the annual catalog. The Fresh Freesia outer circle was die cut with Layering Circles. I embellished with Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon and the Gorgeous Grape Glossy Dots. The owl images in this Adorable Owls stamp set are so cute and fun to color.

Deepest Sympathy with Painted Poppies

My card this week is a sympathy card created with the stamp sets Painted Poppies, Peaceful Moments and Heal your Heart. I also created this card for the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge of Pool Party, Starry Night and Pumpkin Pie.

I started with a Basic White card base and stamped the texture with the stamp from the Painted Poppies set in Starry Night., The Pumpkin Pie die cut poppy is framed with silver foil and layered over Shimmery White card stock. The leaves were die cut from Starry Night and Pool Party. The Shimmery White layer is framed with Pool Party and Starry Night. The inside of the card I stamped with the poppies images from the Painted Poppies and stamped with the sentiment from Sale-a-bration Heal Your Heart set.

Christmas in July with Paper Pumpkin

This week my card was inspired by the Inspiration Challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. With temperatures of 100 degrees almost every day it’s easy to day dream of a trip to the mountains to experience cooler weather. Like most crafters I have materials and in this case Paper Pumpkin kits I haven’t used but meant to. The inspiration images from Hand Stamped Sentiments looks like a Hallmark Christmas movie. I don’t yet have the Sale-a-Bration Tree Lot dies which are free with a $100 purchase from Stampin’ Up!, but oh wait I do have a die cut of a camper from the July 2021 Paper Pumpkin. I know it’s not a current kit however you can subscribe to Paper Pumpkin to receive a monthly kit to create quick cute cards. The cool thing about these kits is you receive EVERYTHING you need to create the cards. LOVE IT! You can put them together using the included instruction or you can create cards of your own design. These are great to take on a trip and be crafty. In my case I was able to create a Christmas card with a cute camper.

I created my card as a Christmas card to go along with the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge so I used the pieces from the kit and added gold ribbon and Red Rhinestones and clear rhinestones colored with Stampin’ Blends Shaded Spruce and Night of Navy. The sentiment is from the Christmas to Remember stamp set. This set is has many great sentiments for Christmas cards.

Friends are like Seashells, Beautiful

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a color challenge of gorgeous Stampin’ Up Colors Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather and Orchid Oasis. These colors to me are beach colors so I decided to use the Friends are like Seashells stamp set, Seashell dies and Seashells 3D embossing folder. Used together they create beautiful textured cards. The background gradient I created using the blending brushes to blend Orchid Oasis at the top, Highland Heather in the center then Coastal Cabana on the bottom. The order I used the products to create the shells layer are I die cut the seashells, stamped the seashells then embossed. When I stamped the seashells I used the blending brushes to apply ink to the stamp then stamp the image. Using this technique created beautiful gradients of color.

I finished the card by embellishing with beautiful Opal Rounds. I love they are iridescent just like bubbles.

Flowering Tulips

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge of Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink and Pumpkin Orange. These colors made me think of tulips so I used the Flowering Tulips bundle to create this card. I also CASED my card from Stephanie Kauffman. It was fun to make the tulips for this card.

After die cutting the tulip flowers I left the die on the cut flowers and sponged color on them then put them together.

I followed Stephanie’s instructions for making the trellis which was made with a square die. Here are the pictures she posted on her FB post on how she made the trellis. What I did to create the trellis was to measure the square die from the retired stitched shapes then I drew the trellis using Illustrator. You can download the PDF .

A Poppy Moments Greeting

When I create a card inspiration comes from many sources.  For this week’s card I was inspired by the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge. I flipped the sketch and found a card in the catalog on page 178 as inspiration to create my Poppy Moments card.

I started with a Purple Posy card base then embossed Whisper White card stock with the Subtle 3D Embossing folder.  I love the texture this folder creates especially on Whisper White card stock because it makes the paper look like watercolor paper.  Using the Poppy Moments die set I die cut the poppy in Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.  I sponged Daffodil Delight ink on the white part of the poppy.  The centers I also die cut from Basic Black card stock, I also die cut two of the buds from Whisper White then sponged with Daffodil Delight and also die cut one in Daffodil Delight.  The leaves I die cut from Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green.  The butterfly I stamped in Momento Black from the Butterfly Gala stamp set then die cut with the Butterfly Duet punch then colored with Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

The banner strips I cut from Gray Granite and Basic Gray card stock then snipped the ends of the Basic Gray one.  I sponged the banners, poppy centers and buds with Champagne Mist Shimmer paint for sparkle.  I also die cut Silver foil foliage using the Sprig punch.  I use this punch often to add these sprigs with other leaves.  I used tear and tape adhesive for the banners.  Dimensionals and glue dots to adhere leaves and poppies.  I also added basic rhinestones for more sparkle.   This card came together quickly.

Here is the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch.  Check out the link and see what the other designers have created.  I hope it inspires you to join us.

Beautiful Painted Poppies

This week I was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.  I used the Painted Poppies and the Peaceful Moments bundle to create my card. These bundles are available until June 30th as a bundle with 10% off discount.  After June 30th they will be available in the new annual catalog, without the 10% off discount.

I stamped the flowers with Momento Black and colored with Flirty Flamingo and Rich Razzleberry watercolor pencils then blended with a Blender Pen.. I love how easy it is to color with these pencils and blend with the blender pens. I also used the the Peaceful Poppies dsp on the side and background. I also used a strip of Rich Razzleberry and embossed with the Pinewood Planks.  I embellished with the white tulle ribbon and used Wink of Stella on the centers of the flowers.  The leaves I stamped and colored with Old Olive watercolor pencil and blender en from the Painted Poppies bundle.  I also die cut leaves using the Poppy Moments die.

The sentiment is stamped on Pool Party and die cut using the Painted Labels die and embellished with Basic Rhinestones.

Hello my Parisian Beauty!

I love the Parisian Beauty Bundle so much I challenged myself to create cards using this one sheet wonder template.  I made ten cards with one sheet of 12″ x 12″ Parisian Blossoms Specialty DSP.  Love this beautiful paper with Champagne foil accents.  I used this sheet of DSP and template to create the cards.

It’s a Piece of Cake Wedding Card

I hadn’t had an opportunity to use the Piece of Cake stamp set and Cake Builder punch and was inspired by the color challenge of Petal Pink, Mint Macaron and Calypso Coral at Hand Stamped Sentiments to create a wedding card.  This summer I’ll be going to my nephew’s wedding and want to be ahead and get my card made.  I like to have different types of cards handy so I made a couple of wedding cards with this color combo.

I used Whisper White as my card base then used Shimmery White for the second layer.  It’s hard to see in the photo how pretty this paper shimmers.  I used the Bokeh dots stamps from the stamp set Beauty Abounds to stamp the dots.  The cake is stamped with Momento black then colored with Stampin’ Write markers.  The cake plate is die cut from Silver Glimmer paper.  The Calypso Coral two hearts were die cut using the retired Owl Builder punch.  I colored the hearts with Clear Wink of Stella.  It’s hard to see but I used small pearls on the flowers.  The greeting is from the Piece of Cake set.  The ribbon is from the new annual catalog, Petal Pink 5/8″ (1.6 Cm) Organdy Striped Ribbon.  This ribbon is so pretty.  The bottom of the layer is die cut using the edge die from Magnolia Memory Dies.  I love how it finished the bottom of the layer.   I’ll be using this edge on many of my cards.  To highlight the edge I backed it with DSP from the Magnolia Lane set.

You too can play along at Hand Stamped Sentiments and see more inspiration from the design team.
