Stampin’ Up Seaside Notions

I love seashells and sea life themed stamp sets so I was excited when I saw the Seaside Notions stamp set in the new catalog.  The seahorse image is my favorite.  I stamped the seahorse and sea shells with Momento Black and colored them with watercolor pencils and blender pen.  I used Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight for the seahorse.  The sea shells I colored with Early Espresso, Calypso Coral and Pacific Point watercolor pencils.

The background is embossed with retired Seaside Embossing folder.  I die cut the mesh background from the Under The Sea dies and also die cut a label from the Stitched Nested Labels set.  The greeting is also from the Seaside Notions stamp set.

My card is based on the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.  There is more inspiration for this challenge from the design team.

Good Morning Magnolia

So many stamp sets, so little time.  This is the first time I use the large magnolia flower stamp from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set.  The flower looks great not colored or with a little color the way I colored it with Flirty Flamingo.  I also used the Clear Wink Stella on the black center and outlines.  For more color, I also used the spatter stamp from the ‘Beauty Abounds’ stamp set behind the flower.  This is a simple card that can be replicated with different layer colors.  I used Blackberry Bliss for the card base and layered with Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White.

This card is also inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration challenge.

Enjoy your day with Magnolia Lane

The new catalog is out and there are so many fabulous suites .  One of them is the Magnolia Suite.  This suite has a stamp set, Designer Series paper, ribbon, and so much more.  I created the card below with DSP , dies and ribbon from the suite.  I stamped the flowers with Momento Black and colored with Calypso Coral light and Old Olive light blender pens.  The new dies have a border around the image so I colored the edges of the flower with a Basic Black marker.  The sentiment is stamped on Kraft paper and die cut with the Pretty Label punch.  To add sparkle I embellished with Basic Rhinestones and ivory ribbon from the suite.

Happy Birthday with Petal Palette

Spring time is here along with birthdays for several of my friends.  So I took the opportunity to be inspired by the inspiration challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments to create a birthday card for one of my friends.  The card I created was very easy and quick to make.  I used the Petal Palette stamp set and coordinating Thinlits.  The sentiment was die cut using the Happy Birthday Thinlits die.  Love this die!   I also used the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. for the background.  The flowers were stamped with Momento Black and colored with Stampin’ Blending Calypso Coral and Old Olive markers.

Celebrate with a Fabulous Flamingo

Flamingos are everywhere!   They’re on pillows, tees, cups, cards and so much more.  I recently purchased the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set and couldn’t wait to use it with the Tropical Chic.  The color challenge of Call me Clover, Flirty Flamingo and Lovely Lipstick at Hand Stamped Sentiments also inspired my birthday flamingo card.

The Call me Clover base I stamped with the leaf stamp from the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set.  The flamingo I stamped with Flirty Flamingo and black Momento ink then fussy cut with paper snips.  The foliage and flowers were stamped from the Tropical Chic stamp set and die cut using the Tropical Thinlit dies.

To add sparkle I used the Wink of Stella on the flowers and the flamingo.  I also used a rhinestone for the eye of the flamingo.  The ribbons are 1/8″ Grosgrain Lovely Lipstick  and 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon.  The sentiment is from the Thoughtful Banners set.  The faceted button is retired.  Making this card was fun!

Happy Birthday with some Lemon Zest

I have just now had the opportunity to play with the Lemon Zest bundle and my card was inspired by the Inspiration Challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments and a card create by Crafty Little Peach Stamper.

I stamped the citrus images on watercolor paper then sponged the darker color.  I love the dreamy effect of the water coloring of the citrus images then die cut with the 1-3/8″ circle punch and embellished with Lemon Twist grograin ribbon and Bermuda Bay sequins and rhinestones.

Happy New Year and Dragonfly Dreams!

Happy New Year and all the best for 2018!  I look forward to a fresh new start.  The new year and Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge both inspired me to create my card.  I chose the colors of Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party which to me remind me of spring.

Stampin up Dragonfly Dreams card

The background on the larger layer I created using the smoosh ink technique with Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party.  The background on the smaller layer I created with the dot stamp from the Dragonfly Dreams set.  The dragonfly I die cut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper then embellished with basic rhinestones.
