A Bouquet of Flowers for My Wonderful Mother

Since mother’s day is tomorrow, I wanted to post the mother’s day card I made for my aunt who is like my mother.  She has loved and cared for me and my siblings since our mother passed away when we were very young.  She’s always been there for us and are truly blessed to have such a wonderful person in my life.

Stampin up Bouquet Bigz L Die mothers day card

I created the flowers with the Bouquet Bigz L Die.  I followed this video to make these flowers.  I didn’t use the stems part of the video since I adhered the flowers to the card front with a glue gun.  For sparkle, I added Dazzling Details to all the flowers.  To add a touch of vintage I used Typeset DSP paper.  The pretty lace ribbon, Sahara Sand Lace trim is from the Occasions catalog.  So pretty!  The sentiment is from the retired stamp set Delightful Dozen, but you can use any sentiment.  This card would also be a great for birthdays or thinking of you.

Technical Difficulties and Snowflakes

This past week my internet was down and was unable to post.  After a week of no internet we finally figured it was time to replace our router.  Although I was not able to post my project in time I still wanted you to see my project.  It’s a hybrid tag created on MDS2.  My project was for Hand Stamped Sentiments snowflake challenge.  I created a tag in MDS2 and die cut the snowflake using the snow flurry die and the paper is Stampin’ Up’s! champagne glitter paper.  I embellished the center of the snowflake with a large pearl.  MDS2 is so easy to use.

Wonderfall Leaves Easel Card

I created this easel card with the fabulous Wonderfall stamp set and Autumn Accents die.  The card base was die cut with the Floral Framelits.  The technique I used to color the leaves I learned at convention.  The large leaf was stamped in More Mustard.  I then sponged the edges with Cajun Craze and distressed the leaf by folding it in my hand.  I opened up the leaf then took my Raspberry Ripple ink pad and stamped the leaf with the ink pad.  The folds picked up the ink fabulously!  I used the same technique for the smaller leaf.

I embossed the Very Vanilla background layer for the card with the Fancy Fan Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  For the Very Vanilla bottom layer I stamped the image with the Daydream Medallions then die cut it with the Floral Framelits.  I used the rock’n roll technique for the sentiment.  I always forget about this technique and need to use it more.

Daydream Medallions for a Friend

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a color challenge with Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Not Quite Navy and Certainly Celery.  Because I had not had an opportunity to play with the stamp set Daydream Medallions and the Floral Frames Framelits Dies I thought these would be perfect for this challenge.  Using the Framelit dies are so easy to use with the stamp set.   My card was also inspired by a make and take I did at convention.  I really like the stamp set and it’s perfectly paired with the framelits.

Stampin’ Up! Petal Cone Strawberry box and tag

Juicy red strawberries were my inspiration for this week’s fruit challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I love shopping the produce section.  Vibrant colors and fruit displayed to show it’s freshness.  Strawberries are in abundance at my grocery store.  The clear boxes filled with juicy strawberries got me to thinking I could make a strawberry out of the Petal Cone die and to make it more decadent I thought chocolate dipped!  Here’s my creation complete with tag.  See below to download the tutorial for how to make this gift set.

Clever Graduation Cap Gift Card Holder

One of the benefits of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is the Success magazine which is sent to us monthly full of ideas, business tips and techniques.  This month there was a very clever graduation cap gift holder.  Here’s the template for the top and the bottom.

Here are the instructions found in the magazine and edited to coordinate with the project I made.

Instructions
  1. Trace and cut the following from Basic Black Card Stock: one top piece and two bottom pieces.
  2. Emboss one bottom piece using the Big Shot and the Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Adhere the left, bottom, and right sides of the embossed card stock to the matching Basic Black piece to create a pocket for the gift card.
  3. Cut four 4-inch x 1-inch strips of Silver Card Stock.  Punch the edges of the Silver Card Stock using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch. Adhere a 2-1/8″ portion of the punched piece to the bottom of the Very Vanilla greeting and secure both pieces to the top of the bottom piece.
  4. Cut a 5-1/2″ x 1/2″ strip of Silver Card Stock. Stamp “Congratulations” on the card stock in Cherry Cobbler ink.  (optional – I heat embossed with Iridescent Ice).  Adhere the strip to the cap as shown on the card and trim the excess card stock.
  5. Make a tassel and wrap  around the prongs of a Glitter Brad. Attach the brad to the center of the cap.
  6. Attach the top of the hat to the bottom of the hat using a Silver Brad.

Mother’s Day Label Framelits Easel Card

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we are introducing new design team members.  We’re thrilled to have Diane Vander Galien, Erika Clark, Elizabeth Price and Bobbie Trost join us.  Hop on over to HSS and see their wonderful projects as well as the rest of the design team’s projects.

For this week’s challenge it’s all about mom.  Create any paper craft project – card, 3d project, scrap book page.  For my project I created an easel card using the Label Framelits. Love, Love, Love this die set.  I also used the Doily Die, Beautiful Butterflies die and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  For some extra sparkle I smooched my card with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch.  So pretty!

Easter Egg Wreath Card

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a color challenge.  I’m still in Easter card mode so I created this Easter Wreath card.  The eggs are die cut with the Extra Large Oval punch and the images are from the Everybunny stamp set and colored with a blender pen and ink pads.  The solid color eggs are textured with embossing folders and decorated with butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.  I also die cut the flowers with Trio and Boho punches.

Chocolate Easter Bunny Card

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have an Easter Inspiration Challenge.  I love the Chocolate Bunny image from My Digital Studio.  I printed him out in Early Espresso and with my Versamark pen I shaded in some of the areas then heat embossed with Iridescent Embossing Powder.  I then layered him over the Enchantment DSP and Soft Suede CS.  I used the Edgelit Dies, Adorning Accents embossing folders and coordinating stamp set Bordering on Romance on the Soft Suede and Calypso Coral.  For the bow on my bunny I used white Baker’s Twine that I dyed with Poppy Parade.

I also punched some of the flowers using the Blossom punch, Five Petal Flower punch, Boho punch and Punch Pack.  The flowers are embellished with pearls and butterflies die cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.   I also used the Pinking Hearts border punch underneath the sentiment.
