Monochromatic Rocking Gingerbread Christmas Card

This week we have a monochromatic challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  My card was also inspired by the cute gingerbread in the Scentsational Season Bundle.  He’s so cute!  My card is also a rocking card which is so much fun to decorate.  Click here for a tutorial on how to make this card.

I cut a Soft Suede 5″ circle and a 4-1/2″ Very Vanilla  circle with my retired Stampin’ Up! Circle Scissor Plus.  I embossed the Very Vanilla circle with the Perfect Polka Dot folder then folded them in half and glued them together.

Technical Difficulties and Snowflakes

This past week my internet was down and was unable to post.  After a week of no internet we finally figured it was time to replace our router.  Although I was not able to post my project in time I still wanted you to see my project.  It’s a hybrid tag created on MDS2.  My project was for Hand Stamped Sentiments snowflake challenge.  I created a tag in MDS2 and die cut the snowflake using the snow flurry die and the paper is Stampin’ Up’s! champagne glitter paper.  I embellished the center of the snowflake with a large pearl.  MDS2 is so easy to use.

Stampin’ Up! Snowflake tag inspired by blue glass

Wouldn’t this tag look great as an ornament or around a bottle of champagne?  This week I was inspired to create this snowflake tag.  Hand Stamped Sentiments has an inspiration challenge and the photo inspired me to use the Snow Flurry die and Apothecary Accents .  I die cut the shape then embossed it with the Northern Flurry Textured embossing folder.  I used Frost White Shimmer paint to sponge the embossed snowflakes and used the snowflakes from the Snow Swirled stamp set to stamp some of the snowflakes with the Frost White shimmer paint.  I embellished the snowflake with basic rhinestones and finished the center with a Designer Vintage Faceted button and white twine.  The sentiment is from the Greetings of the Season stamp set.

Over the Top Pewter Gilded Frame Christmas Card

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is to create an over the top Christmas card.  Inspired by a project I saw in the November Stampin’ SUCCESS magazine I created this over the top pewter gilded frame Christmas Card.

Gilded Frame Over the Top Christmas Card

The embossed snowflake background is heat embossed with Iridescent Embossing Powder.

The frame is die cut using Sizzix Frame die.  I used the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and inked up the inside of the embossing folder with Versamark then ran it through the Big Shot.  I then heat embossed it with Pewter Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I love how the frame looks antiqued!

I used the Blossom Petals Builder punch to make the white poinsettia.  I used the three narrow petals to create the layers then used the Simply Scored to score the petals then adhered them to a 1″ circle with glue dots.  For some extra sparkle I applied Versamark and heat embossed with Iridescent Embossing Powder. For more shine I used  basic rhinestones for the center of the poinsettia.  The Blossom Petals Builder punch made it so easy!  The sentiment is stamped and heat embossed with Iridescent Embossing Powder on a 3/4″ strip of Whisper White card stock.

More basic rhinestones were added to the frame and background to send this card over the top with sparkle.

Snowflakes in San Antonio

I hope all of you have mailed your Christmas cards and have your shopping done.  As for me all my cards are done.  I’m just in the process of addressing.  I hope to get these in the mail by Wednesday.  Finally the weather here has turned cold.  It’s not so motivating to get Christmas activities completed when it’s warm outside.  Now it feels like Christmas.  Although it doesn’t normally snow here in San Antonio I can still wish for a white Christmas or at least on my Christmas cards.  So here at my craft table there are snowflakes in San Antonio.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a snowflake theme challenge.  Create any project with snowflakes.  You’re welcome to use any brand products.  I look forward to seeing your projects.  So hop on over to HSS and take the challenge.

I’ve been wanting to use the Shimmery White paper from SU and my snowflake die and this challenge was perfect.  I love the elegance of the Shimmery White paper.  So beautiful!  I hope you can see how the paper shimmers in my card below.  This card was very easy to create.  I embossed the front of my card with the Northern Flurry embossing folder and used SU Dazzling Diamonds on the embossed and the die cut snowflakes.  I also embellished them with the self-adhesive Basic Pearls.   These are the perfect embellishment for your Christmas cards.  I adhered the die cut snowflake with Dimensionals and added a Very Vanilla satin bow.  The embellishment is from the Snow Swirled stamp set and is embossed in silver.  I hope your inspired to create your snowflake project.   See you at HSS.

Very Merry Snowflakes PPA17 Sketch Challenge

This card was created for this week’s PPA sketch challenge by Margaret Moody, a talented pal known for her clean layouts and stunning design.  I wanted to use my sister’s new stamp set Snow Swirled.  I love this stamp set.  I used the snowflake stamp and some scraps leftover from my Holiday Card Event.  Red and green are the traditional colors for Christmas so I decided to do my take on this card with the snowflake background and a strip of textured paper done with the Petals-A-Plenty Stampin’ Up! Textured Impressions Folder for the Big Shot. I like the way my card turned out.  Let me know what you think.
