Happy Valentine’s Day…You’re just my type!

Today is Valentine’s Day and I wish you love!  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a Valentine’s day Challenge.   I love the old fashion typewriter image in the Established Elegance set but I also love all the sentiments in the ‘You’re my Type’ set so I combined both.

I was going for a vintage feel and used Cherry Cobbler with Very Vanilla.  For a bit of sparkle I used the Dazzling Details in Cherry Cobbler on the embossed background.  I also punched the hearts from red glitter paper. The label framelits are fast becoming one of my favorites.  I love all the different sizes.  The paper in the typewriter looks like it’s coming up from the rollers because I cut a notch at the paper holder on the typewriter and put the paper behind it.

I hope you’re inspired to join us this week and spread the love by posting you’re Valentine project at HSS.

Stampin' Up! Sale-a-brationStampin' Up! Sale-a-brationStampin' Up! Sale-a-brationTo celebrate  Sale-a-bration I’ve been creating projects with some of the products in the Sale-a-bration catalog.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments the challenge is gift items.  With Valentine’s just around the corner I made this heart box using the Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper which you can earn with a $50 purchase.

I used the Heart Framelits to create the box and I embellished it it with quill roses and butterflies die cut from the Beautiful Wi Sizzlit.  To make this box I adapted the tutorial from SCS.  I love the colors in the Everyday Enchantment DngsSP – Poppy Parade, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Very Vanilla and Soft Suede.  These colors are so pretty together.

I added some extra sparkle to the roses with Dazzling Details and embellished with basic pearls.  The sentiment and the heart on the sentiment are embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. To make this a sweet gift I filled the box with Hershey’s kisses.

Sea of Love Valentine Card

How these days in January make me long for the beach.  I guess I shouldn’t complain since the weather here has been sunny and in the 70’s but I just can’t help thinking of long summer days at the beach.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a beach theme but I still have Valentine’s day on the brain.  So when I began to think of what to create for this challenge I thought of the sea…love…Eureka!!…The Sea of Love!  So here’s my interpretation of this week’s beach theme challenge.

Sea of Love Fish Punch Art Valentine Card

I used the Lots of Love Letterpress plate for the background.  I inked it up with Versamark then ran it through the Big Shot and to add sparkle I heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  The sentiment is stamped in Indigo Blue and also heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

Punch Art Fish Valentine Card

I hope you can see how the Sea of Love  shimmers with the Iridescent Ice.  The fish are made with various Stampin’ Up! heart punches.  I couldn’t resist the wiggle eyes.  The sand is Crumb Cake card stock sponged with Soft Suede ink.  This card would be perfect to give to your hubby or wife.  Either way love is in the air or rather the sea.

I hope you’re inspired to join us this week with your beach themed creation.  Hop on over to HSS for more inspiration from our very talented design team.

Take it to Heart Forever & Always Valentine Card

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments the challenge is Pleats and Ruffles.  I’ve used lots of items from the new mini catalog to create this card.

Stampin Up Valentine Take it to heart card

I love the bird image from the Take it to Heart stamp set.  I used ink pads and blender pens to color the image.  To give the image a bit more sparkle I used the tiniest bit of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to the flowers.  I also heat embossed the textured background with touches of gold embossing powder.  Since the challenge calls for pleats or ruffles, I ruffled a piece of Victoria Crochet ribbon on a hat pin.  The top of the pin also features small punched flowers.  This is my first Valentine card of the season.  Let me know what you think and also what your favorite items are from the new mini.

Button it up!

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments it’s all about buttons.  Since I didn’t have a button I liked I decided to make a heart paper button. There is an easy to follow tutorial for making paper buttons on SCS.  The dressmaker form can be found here.  This card came together very quickly and was fun to make.  Join us this week for our Button Challenge.

Strength & Hope Butterfly Card – Let’s Fight Breast Cancer!

This past weekend I held a workshop and my make-and-take was a card I saw in the May issue of SUCCESS.  SUCCESS is a magazine for Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and is a valuable tool to helping us with our business.   I used the colors and punches I own to create the card.  My customers loved making it.  Plus it showcased the stamp set so well.  With each purchase of this stamp set Stampin’ Up! will donate $2 to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.  BCRF is dedicated to preventing breast cancer and finding a cure in our lifetime by funding clinical and translational research worldwide.

Simple Valentine Cards

I created these simple Valentine cards for a class.  These were very easy for my guests and they loved them.  These two-layer cards showcased the Big Shot for the embossed backgrounds.  I love the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and combines well with the Artistic Etchings stamp set.  I stamped the medallion in Riding Hood Red on Very Vanilla CS to make the background.  I then stamped the Eiffel Tower, glued the Red Glitter heart atop the tower and added a bit of Scallop Trim to the bottom and stamped ‘AMOUR’.  I also tore the edges of the Very Vanilla CS and sponged the edges in Riding Hood Red. For the finishing touch,  I adhered pearls and rhinestones to the corners.

For the “Just my Type” card   I used the Texture Plates Kit #4 which I had not used for awhile.  This set has a wonderful typed background which coordinates perfectly with the vintage typewriter image from Puns from the Past and the Newsprint DSP.  I punched the border of the Newsprint layer and sponged the edges in black.  I love the Tiny Tags stamp set and Medium Jewelry punch.  These little tags add so much to any card.  I adhered with the mini glue dots the tags underneath the knot of the ribbon.  I stamped the typewriter image on Very Vanilla CS then punched it out with the Decorative Label Punch.  I also punched another Decorative Label in black and framed the Typewriter image.  I added the Red glitter heart to the top of the typewriter image and the pearls to the corners.

One of my goals this year is to finish the inside of my cards as I did below.  It just looks so much neater and gives you another opportunity to use more images from a stamp set.

With all my Heart

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have sketch challenge.  I knew I wanted to create a Valentine card because I’ve been itching to use the red glitter paper in the new occasions mini. I also used one of my favorite stamp sets Notably Ornate and my two DSP favs – Love Letter and Newsprint.  Hop on over to HHS and take the challenge.  We’d love to see your projects.

With all my heart Valentine card

I have also entered my card over at Pals Paper Arts.  Their Design Team is so talented.

I knew I wanted to to create a Valentine card because I wanted to use the Red Glitter paper and the Notably Ornate stamp set because I love the frame.  I stamped it and the bird in Basic Black and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I cut them both out with my paper snips.  The dotted heart is from the I {Heart} Hearts set and stamped in Cherry Cobbler and also trimmed with paper snips and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I framed the heart with the Pinking Heart border.  Kasey has a wonderful tutorial on how to frame with punched borders.

I created the large scallop border with 1″ circles.  I punched the circles from the Love Letter DSP.  I adhered the circles starting from the center so the border would end up even on both sides. The polka dot paper is from the Love Letter DSP and I also used a Newsprint layer.  For that Valentine feel I used the Red Glitter paper.  Love it!!  The sentiment banner ends are punched using the 1-1/4 square punch.  The sentiment is from the With all my Heart stamp set.

A Parisian Birthday

I’ve been wanting to use the Love Letter DSP with the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set.  The patterns are beautiful and as usual I always have a problem deciding which side to use.  I made this box with three cards and stamped the envelopes to match for a friend’s birthday.  This project came together very easy.  I first made the box with the chip board that comes with the DSP. You can also use Stampin’ Up!’s cardstock but if you want to use DSP you need to adhere it to a thicker stock therefore I used the chip board.   SCS has a great tutorial on how to make this box.

I first cut the chip board to size then adhered a slightly larger piece of  DSP over the chip board and trimmed to the size of the chip board.  I then scored as instructed and assembled the box as instructed on the SCS A2 box tutorial.

I decorated the top of the box with a strip of the Love Letter DSP red medallion DSP.  I was dying to use the frame for the Notably Ornate stamp set which I stamped on a Very Vanilla layer with Basic Black ink then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I rounded the corners then sponged with Basic Black and Riding Hood Red.  I stamped the crown on Very Vanilla and used my paper snips to cut out then sponged with Riding Hood Red.  The Eiffel Tower is stamped with Basic Black then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Paper snips and a hobby blade were used to cut the Eiffel tower.  The crown and the tower are adhered with Dimensionals and embellished the frame with the Basic Pearls.  I love the Basic Pearls.  They’re perfect for embellishing any card because they come in three sizes.  The knotted ribbon is adhered with a mini glue dot.  I punched a border out of a strip of DSP and adhered to the back of the frame layer then adhered the completed layer to the box.

I created the three cards with different DSP from the Love Letter group and used the Artistic Etchings stamp set.  The fan fold instructions can be found on SCS.

Waterfall Valentine’s Day card

I did not want to post my Valentine card for my DH until the day because I did not want to spoil the surprise.  The card I created is a hybrid card made with My Digital Studio.  The glittery background is the Sending Love DSP and the waterfall panels were created on MDS.  I love this software.  Since my husband and I do not have children we do have furry ones.  We have two Bengal cats, Rocco and Franco aka Chummy and a Chihuahua named Chula.  I photographed our pets and shaped the photos as ovals or circles and put them on the Full Heart punch image printed and cut them out then adhered them to the panels.  The last panel that says “luv u always” was also done on MDS.  The ‘always’ stamp set is one of the stamp sets included on MDS when you purchase it.  The waterfall card is really easy to make and lots of fun for the recipient.  They simply pull on the ribbon and they see all the panels.  How fun!  You can find instructions for making this card here on SCS.
