Hearts & Kisses

January is almost gone and February is almost here!  The next holiday is Valentine’s day!  This is a wonderful holiday because it’s a day to celebrate our love for family and friends.  Valentine’s day, the Hearts & Kisses bundle and the new Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge inspired me to create this card.

The New Hearts & Kisses bundle includes a super cute Kiss stamp set and coordinating punch to die cut the lips and heart.  The card stock colors I used are Real Red, Petal Pink and Whisper White.  I used the Ornate Layers dies to create the Whisper White scrolled frame.  The hearts behind the lips were die cut using the Heart Punch Pack.  I stamped the small hearts in Real Red with the hearts stamp from the Hearts & Kisses set.  The Petal Pink heart was also stamped from this set and die cut with the Kiss punch.  The large heart I embellished with Polka Dot tulle ribbon and the small hearts I embellished with basic clear rhinestones.

Heartfelt Happy Valentine’s Day

Here’s wishing you a heartfelt happy Valentine’s day!  I created this card with the new stamp set Heartfelt and From my Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Both are from the Stampin’ Up Occasions catalog.  Love the colors of Real Red and Flirty Flamingo.  My inspiration for the card is from the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

I used Whisper White and Flirty Flamingo doily hearts.  I stamped the ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ heart then die cut with the heart punch then layered it with the stamped doily heart in StayzOn white then die cut with lacy edge heart punch.  The heart button is from the retired Sweet Dreams embellishments and tied with white baker’s twine.  The white scalloped banner at the bottom I die cut using the Scalloped Tag Topper punch then tied with Real Red retired Mixed Satin Ribbon.   The inside of the card I stamped with stamps from the Heartfelt stamp set.

You’re the Cat’s Meow Valentine Card

I have mad love for the Nine Lives stamp set and Cat punch.  The Nine Lives stamp set is from the Stampin’ Up 2019 Occasions catalog and it coordinates with the Cat punch .  I was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge and my Bengal cat Rocco to create a Valentine’s Day card.

I stamped the wood background with Blushing Bride then added retired Real Red Mixed ribbon then adhered to the Real Red layer.  The cat was stamped on Crumb Cake then the markings were stamped in Early Espresso.  I used dimensionsl to adhere the cat.  The sentiment is framed and adhered with dimensionals  I finished the card with stamping hearts then embelleshed with basic rhinestones.

Sliding Barn Door Valentine

January means a new year and a fresh start.  Many of us are heading back to the gym in full force, organizing and tackling DIY projects.  One of the projects my husband and I are working on is purchasing a sliding barn door for our bedroom.  These doors are one of the hottest home design trends.  So I was so excited to  see the Barn Door Bundle (Barn Door Stamp Set and Sliding Door Framelits Dies) in the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog!

Watch Stampin’ Up!’s Brandy Barnard in this video demonstration of how to use the Barn Door Bundle.  Purchase the bundle which includes the Barn Door Stamp Set and Sliding Door Framelits Dies and save 10% .

Sliding Barn Door Valentine Card

Stampin Up Barn Door Valentine cardThe cool detail is how the door slides left and right within the die cut grooves.  I created this barn door card front for this Valentine card.

I used #6 washers with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to slide the door.  However,  I’ve seen tutorials using dimes or pennies.

stampin up owl valentine's day cardThe punch was an easy way to create the owls on this card.  Don’t these owls look in love?  For texture I also used the Wood Grain embossing folder for the background.  Join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments for more inspiration from our talented designers.

Monstermaniacs Valentine card

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is a color challenge and I was so excited to use the Monstermaniacs stamp set given to me by my upline Erin.  This was the first time I used this versatile stamp set.

Since Valentine’s day is coming up I created this card for the occasion. I used a blender pen to color the image of the monster and used Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details to go over the spots on the monster.  This was a quick and easy card to make.

Hearts a Flutter Valentine’s card

I’ve had a nice break from blogging and enjoyed Christmas with my family.  However I’ve been so excited to play with my new stash from the Stampin’ Up! Spring mini catalog 2013.  This week’s challenge on Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color splash challenge of Primrose Petals, Pool Party and Basic Black.  This project is based on a photo frame project in the spring catalog.  Here’s my project giving you a sneak peek of the Hearts a Flutter Bundle.  It contains the hearts a Flutter stamp set and framelits.  It’s perfect for making a variety of cards.

Sea of Love Valentine Card

How these days in January make me long for the beach.  I guess I shouldn’t complain since the weather here has been sunny and in the 70’s but I just can’t help thinking of long summer days at the beach.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a beach theme but I still have Valentine’s day on the brain.  So when I began to think of what to create for this challenge I thought of the sea…love…Eureka!!…The Sea of Love!  So here’s my interpretation of this week’s beach theme challenge.

Sea of Love Fish Punch Art Valentine Card

I used the Lots of Love Letterpress plate for the background.  I inked it up with Versamark then ran it through the Big Shot and to add sparkle I heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  The sentiment is stamped in Indigo Blue and also heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.

I hope you can see how the Sea of Love  shimmers with the Iridescent Ice.  The fish are made with various Stampin’ Up! heart punches.  I couldn’t resist the wiggle eyes.  The sand is Crumb Cake card stock sponged with Soft Suede ink.  This card would be perfect to give to your hubby or wife.  Either way love is in the air or rather the sea.

I hope you’re inspired to join us this week with your beach themed creation.  Hop on over to HSS for more inspiration from our very talented design team.

Waterfall Valentine’s Day card

I did not want to post my Valentine card for my DH until the day because I did not want to spoil the surprise.  The card I created is a hybrid card made with My Digital Studio.  The glittery background is the Sending Love DSP and the waterfall panels were created on MDS.  I love this software.  Since my husband and I do not have children we do have furry ones.  We have two Bengal cats, Rocco and Franco aka Chummy and a Chihuahua named Chula.  I photographed our pets and shaped the photos as ovals or circles and put them on the Full Heart punch image printed and cut them out then adhered them to the panels.  The last panel that says “luv u always” was also done on MDS.  The ‘always’ stamp set is one of the stamp sets included on MDS when you purchase it.  The waterfall card is really easy to make and lots of fun for the recipient.  They simply pull on the ribbon and they see all the panels.  How fun!  You can find instructions for making this card here on SCS.
