My Digital Studio Friend card and a NEW CATALOG!

I created this card on My Digital Studio for Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge.  Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding and Blushing Bride.   My digital card was also inspired by a card on page 111 of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog.  YES!  It’s a brand new catalog with so many wonderful products.  You can see the catalog by clicking on the image of the catty on the right side of my blog.

Stampin up my digital friend cardI added a shadow to the banners to give them dimension.  A very easy and fast card.

Happiness is: Scrapbooking with Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio

Here it is again!  Another fun color challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Lately I have been making an effort to use My Digital Studio to scrapbook pages with my fur babies.  I took the pictures I used in this page in March when our irises bloomed.  I thought it would be cute to take photos of my pets with the irises but some how they don’t always do what I want.  I did manage to photograph Chula my Chihuahua in front of them but she really wasn’t interested.  The only way I could get a cute pic of my kitty was to put him in this basket since he loves boxes and small places.  He stayed in the basket just long enough for me to snap a picture.

It’s Sale-a-bration!

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a sketch challenge.  Since my craft room is still in disarray I used My Digital Studio to create this 8″ x 8″ scrapbook page.  I found these photos I took of my Bengal kitties in a Sale-a-bration box and I knew I wanted to create a scrapbook page.  Sadly the kitty with the topaz eyes is no longer with us but I still have photos and memories to remember him.

Valentine You Send Me Soaring Card

I’m so glad for My Digital Studio!  I’m in the middle of re-organizing my craft room and everything is upside down.  So for this week’s challenge My Digital Studio was a lifesaver.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge – Rose Red, Smoky Slate and Midnight Muse.  Currently I’m into creating Valentine cards with unconventional colors and these were perfect.  I love the digital stamp set Send me Soaring.  Cute kite and cloud images!

A Motorcycle Birthday!

Happy Halloween My Digital Studio Card

For this week’s challenge I decided to play with My Digital Studio to create a Halloween card.  The colors were inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge of Tangerine Tango, Elegant Eggplant, Garden Green and Basic Black.  Don’t these colors just scream HALLOWEEN!  It was so much fun using the coloring tool to add different colors to the digital stamp images.  If you haven’t tried digital crafting, download the free trial version of MDS here.  You can create cards, scrap book pages and books, journals and whatever your paper crafting mind can conjure.

First Day of School My Digital Studio Card

It’s hard to believe that back to school is around the corner and summer is almost over.  Where did the time go?!  The inspiration challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments inspired me to create this card on My Digital Studio.  It was so quick and easy and one of the features of MDS is you can color the stamps.  LOVE that feature.  Wouldn’t it be nice to put this card in your child’s lunch box.  It would be a great way to wish them a happy first day of school.

A Note of Thanks

Masculine Bookmark

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a masculine inspiration challenge.  Masculine projects are a challenge for me but my husband gave me a great idea!  He suggested I make bookmark for him.  I immediately thought My Digital Studio.  I haven’t played on it in awhile and this was the perfect opportunity.  I started with the First Edition digital DSP.  The edges look sponged because I used background #1 of the Vintage Overlays digital DSP.  There’s a great tutorial for this technique on www.mydigitalstudio.net.  The images are from digital stamp The Open Seas.  I used Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy. I used two pieces of chipboard and covered each side with the  digital background.  Before I glued them together I put the Antique brads through.  EASY PROJECT!

Sympathy card for a friend

Recently my friend’s mother passed away and I needed to make a sympathy card.  She’s a dear friend and I was saddened to hear of the news.  I wanted my card to be elegant and to also let her know I was thinking about her and wished her comfort.   I wanted my card to be mostly neutral with a hint of color.  So Saffron was perfect.  I used a butterfly image because I think when our time here on earth is over our soul or energy, like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly, we transform into something else.  The butterfly image I used is retired Stipple Butterfly.

I stamped the butterfly image with Versamark and Basic Black ink then embossed it with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  I then used a yellow watercolor pencil with a blender pen to color the wings.  The embossing powder adds just a bit of shimmer.  Click on the image below to see the shimmer.   I embossed the background and the envelope flap with the Vintage Wallpaper folder then sponged with So Saffron ink.    See card recipe below for more details.
