Groovy Love From My Heart

This week’s challenge is a color splash challenge with the colors of Basic Black, Whisper White and Melon Mambo.  These colors inspired me to use my Groovy Love stamp set and coordinating heart punch to create this card.  I also used the new Happy Heart embossing folder from the Occasions catalog on the Whisper White layer along with the Fun Frames embossing folders for the hearts.  After embossing the frame on to Whisper White I cut the frame and sponged with Melon Mambo.

I stamped the polka dot heart and used the Sweetheart punch to die cut it.  I also used the punch to die cut a Melon Mambo and Whisper White hearts.  The edges of the Whisper White heart is sponged with Melon Mambo.  I then adhere the hearts on to the frame with Dimensionals.  I then used 1/8″ Melon Mambo taffeta ribbon to embellish.

Happy New Year

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is an inspiration challenge.   I created the card below inspired from the images below.

To create the background for my card I brayered silver Encore ink onto the Fancy Fan Textured Embossing Folder and embossed the black card stock.  I stamped the champagne glasses with silver Encore ink and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder for additional shimmer.  I added basic rhinestones to the glasses for bubbles.  I cut a slit at the fold of the card and threaded the ribbon through.  After embossing the card stock becomes a bit flimsy so I adhered a layer of black card stock on the back side of the card front for stability and to hide the ribbon.

All in all this card was super easy to make and took not time at all.

Give Thanks for all Seasons

This week on HSS  we have a sketch challenge.  The For All Things and Fall Fest framelits were perfect!  I love the stamp set and framelits.  The Color Me Autumn DSP coordinates perfectly and I used the leaves from the stamp set to create a coordinating layer.  The layer tag was created using the Tag Topper Scalloped punch and Eclectic Paper-Piercing Pack to embellish the tag.

Beauty of the Season Cardinal Christmas Card

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge of Real Red, Soft Sky and Garden Green.  I used the Beauty of the Season stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog to create this Christmas card.  I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the cardinal image.  I then used a blender pen to color the cardinal and the berries.  I used a sponge dauber to lightly sponge a Soft Sky background.  The frames are die cut from the Labels Collection framelits to create a frame for the cardinal image.  The background layer I embossed with an inked up Woodgrain embossing folder .  I inked it up with Soft Suede to emphasize the grain.

Congratulations to an Eagle Scout

This week’s sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments inspired me to create this card for my best friend’s son.  He achieved the Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts.  I used Night of Navy, Whisper White and Red Glimmer paper.  I cut two 1″ strips of Night of Navy and Red Glimmer paper.  I downloaded the badge from the internet, printed it and cut it out.  Using the sketch made it so easy and fast.  This sketch would work for all kinds of cards and color combinations.
