Cozy Christmas Card

My card this week is inspired by the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I love the stamp set Cozy Christmas and the coordinating DSP Home for Christmas.  Together these make cute cards.

My card is CASED from the sample on page 8 of the 2015 Holiday Catalog and the sketch on HSS.

The card base is Mint Macaron, the DSP layer 4″ w x 5-1/4″ h, the Very Vanilla layer size 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″, the Pool Party layer size 2-3/4″ x 2-3/4″, the DSP banner 4″ w x 1/2″ h, Mossy Meadow layer size 4-1/4″ w x 1/2″ h.  The cute deer is fussy cut from the Home Christmas DSP.  Super cute and easy card to create.

Be inspired and share your project with Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Reason for the Season Christmas Card

An elegant Christmas card is what I created, inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge of Very Vanilla, Metallic Gold and Basic Black.  I used the bundle with the Festive Flower Builder Punch and the Reason for the Season Stamp set.  With the Festive Flower Builder Punch you can create beautiful Poinsettias like the one I created from Vellum paper.

I stamped Vellum paper with Gold Encore ink.   For the center of the flower I used retired embellishment Frosted Finishes from last year’s Holiday Catalog.  Behind the flower I used Gold trim cording.  The corners of the layers (Very Black, Gold Foil) of the card I punched with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark on a 1-1/2″ x 4″ strip of Very Vanilla then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

Beauty of the Season Cardinal Christmas Card

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge of Real Red, Soft Sky and Garden Green.  I used the Beauty of the Season stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog to create this Christmas card.  I used Momento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the cardinal image.  I then used a blender pen to color the cardinal and the berries.  I used a sponge dauber to lightly sponge a Soft Sky background.  The frames are die cut from the Labels Collection framelits to create a frame for the cardinal image.  The background layer I embossed with an inked up Woodgrain embossing folder .  I inked it up with Soft Suede to emphasize the grain.

Stampin Up Beauty of the Season Christmas cardI added sparkle to the berries and the cardinal with red Dazzling Details.  I also embellished with rhinestones I colored with a red Sharpie.  I used Linen Thread for the bow.

Join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments for this challenge and show us what you can do with these colors.

A Joyful Christmas in August

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a color challenge – Baked Brown Sugar, Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler,  These colors just say Christmas!  I created this card using the Joyful Christmas stamp set.

I stamped two poinsettia flowers on vellum and embossed with gold embossing powder then colored it from behind.  It’s such a pretty  look.  Like stained glass.  I cut out the larger flower then cut the center from the other one.  I used the same technique with the leaves and colored them with Garden Green.

Joyful Christmas poinsettia card

For embellishments I used basic rhinestones in the center of the flower and Baked Brown Sugar ribbon.  The sentiment is stamped with Cherry Cobbler and die cut with the  Apothecary Accents Framelits die.

Special Season Christmas Card

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge – Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green and Baked Brown Sugar.  When I saw these colors I immediately thought Christmas!  I know it’s a bit early to think about this holiday but I was so excited to use my new stamp set Special Season.  I was also inspired by a Christmas card created with this stamp set in the holiday catalog.

This Christmas Tree card was very easy to make.  I embossed the Baked Brown Sugar card base with the Northern Flurry embossing folder then added Dazzling Details to add sparkle.  I also added rhinestones for more bling.  I cut the Whisper White layer as a banner, stamped the Christmas tree image and sentiment.  To dress up the  Whisper White layer I made a bow with the Raspberry Ripple satin stitched ribbon and added a Frosted Finishes snowflake embellishment.  I colored the rhinestones for the tree with a Sharpie very similar to the Raspberry Ripple.  I’ve included a close-up photo of the Whisper White layer.  Super easy card!

Rocking Christmas Card

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a fun challenge – Fancy Fold Cards.   With only few more days left till Christmas I decided to make another Christmas card but with a rocking twist.  I had seen this type of card out in internet land and decided to make a rocking Christmas card.  You can view a tutorial for making this card here.  They’re so easy to create!  I cut an Early Espresso 5″ circle and a 4-1/2″ Soft Suede circle with my Circle Scissor Plus then folded them in half and glued them together.

The Scallop Circle Cherry Cobbler layer is embossed with the Snow Burst embossing folder and heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  I used the Scallop Circle and Scallop Circle #2 dies to cut the Cherry Cobbler Scallop Circle and the Lucky Limeade Scallop Circle.  The Gift image is stamped on watercolor paper with brown StayzOn and colored with ink pads and a blender pen.  I used the Circle Scissor Plus to cut out this layer at 2-3/4″ .  To add some more sparkle I framed it with Champagne Glass glitter.  I added an Old Olive button and stamped ‘Merry Christmas’ in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla.

For the back of the card I stamped the bird and ornament image on water color paper then punched with the ornament punch.  I also used ink pads and a blender pen to color.  I stamped snowflakes and heat embossed them in gold along with the sentiment.
