Not too early for Halloween

For this week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a vintage theme challenge.  Vintage is not difficult to accomplish.  Distressing and sponging paper are two ways to age your project.  I created this Halloween tag to put around a bottle of wine.  Perfect for a hostess gift.

Day 3 of Stampin’ Up! Convention 2012…I am so Wow’d

Hello!  I am so tired but I want to post some additional pictures from last night’s award.  Here I am with Erica Cerwin (Artisan Award Winner) and Erin Gonzales.

Erin Gonzales, Erica Cerwin, me

Below is a photo of fellow Hand Stamped Sentiment design team members.

Erin Gonzales, Shannon Eberhardt, Mindy Bingamon (Artisan Award finalist), Erica Cerwin (Artisan Winner)

Silly Erin!!!!

Erin is a CRAZY SILLY!  She’s constantly dancing, cracking jokes and making us all laugh until we have tears in our eyes and our cheeks hurt.  Everyday she’s like this.  We need to keep her away from sugar and Raisinettes.

Below is a picture of us at the morning general session.  Don’t we all look chipper!  I think it’s the caffeine kicking in.  We go to bed way too late every night.

Below are some pictures of amazing projects on display.  Way too many to post but here are some highlights.

Here are Erica’s winning projects.

Mindy’s finalist projects.

More fabulous projects.

Project featured in yesterday’s session with Dawn Griffith. So cute and you can make these in any color!

These are some of today’s very cool Halloween projects demonstrated by Shannon West.  Here’s how she presented her projects.  In costume!!

Here are some of the projects she showed us.

I hope you can see them. These were taken with my iPhone so they may be fuzzy.

The candle was rolled onto a background stamp! How cool is that? Don’t you just love the leaves?!

I  have got to get some sleep.  So off to dreamland I go.

Thanks for stopping by!

Salt Lake City…here I am ready to stamp

I just got in at 9 PM mountain time to Salt Lake City, home of Stampin’ Up!  I’m here to attend the I am 2012 Convention.  I’m so excited!  Erin, Shannon and Erica picked me up at the airport and we were off to the grocery store to pick up some breakfast foods.  We then drove to the house we rented.  Erin is so savvy.  She researched and rented the house for us.  She saved us a ton of money and I so appreciate it.  She’s a great upline.

Now that we’re all settled we’re sitting in the living room with our laptops clicking away posting to our blogs.  I’m really happy to announce that Erica Cerwin of Pink Buckaroo received an Artisan Award.  We’re so proud!

I don’t have much to post about since I just got here but I’ll post more about my day on Thursday.

Stampin’ Up! Petal Cone Strawberry box and tag

Juicy red strawberries were my inspiration for this week’s fruit challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I love shopping the produce section.  Vibrant colors and fruit displayed to show it’s freshness.  Strawberries are in abundance at my grocery store.  The clear boxes filled with juicy strawberries got me to thinking I could make a strawberry out of the Petal Cone die and to make it more decadent I thought chocolate dipped!  Here’s my creation complete with tag.  See below to download the tutorial for how to make this gift set.

Inspired again by Stampin’ Up’s Idea Book & Catalog – A Frames Framelit Pouch

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge of – Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Baja Breeze.  Gorgeous summer colors!  As I was looking through Stampin’ Up’s new Idea Book & Catalog I saw a treat pouch created with the Label Framelits.

I first cut two framelits using the second to largest framelit.  I then stamped the flourish flower from Mixed Bunch with Versamark and heat embossed it in clear.  Score where shown.

Cut 2 framelits using the second to largest.  Click image to enlarge

Punch both sides of a 1-1/4″ x 3-3/4″ Calypso Coral strip of cardstock with the Scallop Trim Border punch.  Trim the strips and adhere them to the bottom of the pouch.

Punch 4 flowers using the Boho Blossom punch and adhere the layers with mini glue dots

Adhere the bottoms of the pouch with sticky tape.

Stamp the flower with Daffodil Delight and punch using the Blossoms punch.  Stamp the center on Baja Breeze card stock with Versamark then clear heat emboss.  Use dimensionals to adhere the Baja Breeze center to the flower.

Stamp the sentiment then die cut using the Bitty Banners Framelits.  Adhere the banner behind the center with a mini glue dot.

Embellish Scallop Border Trim edge with pearls.

Punch a hole through both sides of the pouch with a regular hole punch.  Use an 8″ piece of Daffodil Delight seam binding to tie together both sides.

Quilt inspired Thank You card

Summer is here and what better way to cool off than with a pinwheel.  My card this week is inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments Quilt Inspired Challenge.  When I saw this challenge I immediately thought pinwheels.  The Patio Party cupcake dsp was perfect for my project.  I cut a scallop circle from the dsp and pieced it together then made a 2.5″ x 2.5″ pinwheel for the center and used an Antique brad for the center.   I also die cut a doily for the layer behind the scallop circle.  The Midnight Muse layer is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  This was any easy card to make.

Another Happy Birthday Card

Here it is another week and another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  Wow!  Where does the week go!?  For this week the challenge is paper pleating.  There are so many great ways to fold paper and use it to embellish any project.  For inspiration I CASED a card from the new Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalog.  I used Summer Starfruit cardstock with Pool Party.  I love this combo!  Summer Starfruit is fast becoming one of my favs.  I stamped my cake image on watercolor paper and used a blender pen and pads to color the banners on the cake.  I embellished the cake with butterflies die cut from the Embosslit Beautiful Wings.  To add sparkle to them I added Dazzling Details to the wings.  The DSP is from Patio Party and the sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners.  The banner is die cut with the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits.  For a soft layer in the color Pool Party I die cut a doily using the Paper Doily Sizzlit.  Instead of ribbon I cut a strip of Summer Starfruit and used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score my paper to make it easier to pleat.  If you haven’t used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool you need to!  It’s so easy to use and in my opinion the best scoring tool on the market.

Happy Birthday Patio Party Bird Card

Hello!  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a challenge to create a project with a bird/peacock.  Great challenge!  My mind just soared with so many ideas!  I’m so excited to share this card because it contains many of the new products found in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog.  So many beautiful stamp sets and products!  I’m going broke if I order everything on my wish list.  The beautiful DSP paper, Patio Party,  features the new In-Colors and I also used card stock from this same collection.  My card also features a new sentiment from the Bitty Banners set that I die cut using the new Bitty Banners Framelits.  No more trying to cut my own banners by hand.  LOVE IT!!  Another new product is the 1/4″ stitched grosgrain ribbon.  This ribbon comes in many colors and the stitching adds so much.

The flower stamped images are from the set Mixed Bunch and die cut with the Blossom punch.  The bird is die cut using the Bird Builder punch.  This punch is a must have because it die cuts a wing, bird and stem with leaves.  So versatile!  The Patio Party DSP layer is the Top Note shape cut narrow.  Cool shape!

Forever & Always Window Sheet Wedding Card

On June 1st the NEW Stampin’ Up! catalog was launched!!  So many beautiful stamps, colors, accessories and ideas!  My card for today was inspired by one of the beautiful cards found in the catalog.  Since this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a color challenge -Daffodil Delight, Basic Gray, Basic Black and Neutral I was inspired by a card made with clear window sheets.  Using window sheets adds so much punch to cards.  Any element on the window sheet looks like it’s floating.

I cut the window sheet 5″ x 10″ then scored in the middle.  I also used the square scallop die to die cut the scallop layer.  I used one of the images from Apothecary Art and colored the image with Stampin’ Up! marker, Daffodil Delight and die cut using the Framelits die.  The sentiment from Loving Thoughts was stamped in Basic Gray on the Daffodil Delight polka dot DSP printed from My Digital Studio.  The cute flowers were punched out with the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack and Boho Punch.  The centers for the flower are the 3/16″ Daffodil Delight brads.  To neatly adhere the layers and flowers to the window sheet I used mini glue dots.
