Friendly Flamingo Birthday Card

I survived the winter storm in San Antonio, TX!  The week of February 15th 2021 was not a typical winter week for us.  We normally don’t have snow except for a day and not every winter.  Last week it was so cold we lost electricity and water.  I know for many of you snow days are not unusual.  However, I’m glad it’s behind us.

Longing for tropical weather I was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration challenge.  The colors in the mood board and the colorful flowers inspired me to create this birthday card with the Friendly Flamingo stamp set in the new mini catalog.  The card base is Granny Apple Green followed by Daffodil Delightful.  The Oh So Ombre printed paper is FREE with a $50 purchase right now during Sale-a-bration.  All die cut elements, except the stitched circle are from the Friendly Flamingo Bundle.

Dressed to Impress card

I was inspired by The Dressed to Impress stamp set and All Dressed up dies  and also use the sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments to create a card with one of my favorite colors, Petal Pink.  Love this shade of soft pink and to add a bit of elegance I used Gold Foil and Champagne rhinestones.  I also used the Petal Pink Organdy Striped ribbon to embellish.  The Petal Pink strip behind the perfume bottle I stamped with the dots then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder as well as the perfume bottle and flowers.  I also used one of the label dies from the Stitched so Sweetly dies.  The stamped image of the perfume bottle and roses then heat embossed with gold embossing powder and colored with an aqua painter using Petal Pink and Pear Pizzazz ink.  The white background I embossed with Pinewood Planks embossing folder.

A Daisy Delight Birthday!

I just received my Stampin’ Up! catalog pre-order!  Included was the Daisy Delight bundle.  The bundle includes the Daisy Delight stamp set and Daisy punch.  You too will be able to order this bundle starting June 1st.

I created this birthday card for the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge of Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder and Pool Party.

This card was fast and easy.  I stamped the daisies then punched them out with the daisy punch.  I punched out two daisies to make one full one.

I used the 3/4″ circle punch to punch out the centers out of silver glimmer paper.  The background is embossed with the Softly Falling textured folder.   The greeting banner is stamped on a 1″ strip.  The end is die cut using the Banner Triple punch.  I then added basic rhinestones to give it more sparkle.

Rose Wonder Birthday Card

My card for this week’s color challenge of Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Crumb Cake was created with new products from the Occasions catalog.  The rose cutout and stamp set are from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set  + Rose Garden Thinlits Dies bundle.  I water colored the rose with Blushing Bride and Rose Red using an Aqua painter brush.  This was a simple card to create.  I CASE’D it from the OnStage conference.  I like how my card turned out.

Birthday Basics -Celebrate with Fringe

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is an Inspiration challenge.  The photo is filled with so many great images just in time for celebrating the Fourth of July.

The card I created is for dear friend celebrating her birthday this month.  I wanted to make it festive and fun and what better way than with fringe.  I created the fringe strips with Stampin’ Up’s! fringe scissors.  I cut 2 inch strips in Watermelon Wonder, Very Vanilla and Island Indigo.  The ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting is stamped with Versamark and Watermelon Wonder and for sparkle I heat embossed it with Iridescent Ice.  To see the sparkle click on the image to magnify.  The butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri set and embellished with basic rhinestones colored with Sharpies.  I tied Metallic Baker’s Twine and stamped the flower in Island Indigo from retired Beautiful Bunch stamp set and embellished with 2015-2017 Watermelon Wonder In Color Blossom accent.

Have a Happy Blooming Birthday in a Flower Patch

April showers bring My flowers.  So they say.  However, here it is May and there are flowers but it’s still raining in San Antonio.   San Antonio received almost 7.5 inches of rain in April, making it the seventh-wettest April since 1886, the first year that precipitation levels were recorded for the area. All this rain has made my flowers grow.  Here’s a photo of the flowers in my garden which provided my inspiration for my card.

I used the Flower Patch Polymer Bundle to create the flowers and leaves.  For the sentiment I stamped the sentiment with Versamark then embossed it with gold embossing powder.  The cloud shape is from the Word Bubbles Framelits set.  For additional texture the second layer is embossed with the Chevron embossing folder.

Another Happy Birthday Card

Here it is another week and another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  Wow!  Where does the week go!?  For this week the challenge is paper pleating.  There are so many great ways to fold paper and use it to embellish any project.  For inspiration I CASED a card from the new Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalog.  I used Summer Starfruit cardstock with Pool Party.  I love this combo!  Summer Starfruit is fast becoming one of my favs.  I stamped my cake image on watercolor paper and used a blender pen and pads to color the banners on the cake.  I embellished the cake with butterflies die cut from the Embosslit Beautiful Wings.  To add sparkle to them I added Dazzling Details to the wings.  The DSP is from Patio Party and the sentiment is from Itty Bitty Banners.  The banner is die cut with the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits.  For a soft layer in the color Pool Party I die cut a doily using the Paper Doily Sizzlit.  Instead of ribbon I cut a strip of Summer Starfruit and used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score my paper to make it easier to pleat.  If you haven’t used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool you need to!  It’s so easy to use and in my opinion the best scoring tool on the market.
