A Mixed and Beautiful Bunch Birthday Card

My card this week is inspired by the color challenge of Blackberry Bliss, Smokey Slate and Pool Party.  I stamped flowers from the Mixed Bunch and Beautiful Bunch stamp sets.  For the leaves I used the Bird Builder punch to die cut them from Blackberry Bliss and Silver Foil paper.  I also used the punch to die cut the bird.  The background is stamped with Smokey Slate using the Hardwood stamp.  I embellished the center of the flowers with basic rhinestones.  The edges of the card is sponged with Blackberry Bliss.

Inked Embossing Folder Technique

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is a technique challenge – Inked Embossing Folder Technique.  I wasn’t sure if I would like it but I tried it and guess what?  I LOVE IT!  If you would like to learn how to do this technique SCS has a tutorial here.

I used the Lacy Brocade embossing folder and inked it in Basic Gray.  I love this new folder.  It’s so vintage-looking.  This card came together very fast.  For the flower I punched 6  flowers with the Blossom punch then lightly sprayed with water.  This is to make them easier to fold.  I then stacked the layers then made a hole with my paper piercer then used a brad to keep the flower together.  The butterflies are stamped with Papillion Potpourri then punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch.   The sentiment is from the From my Heart stamp set.  For that extra sparkle I added rhinestones.  Super easy!

Mixed bunch party favor box

Due to some technical difficulties I was not able to post last week when I got home from convention.  But her I am.  It’s been a busy week trying to get caught up.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a challenge for party favor boxes.  I had not used the Fancy Favor box in awhile so with summer in full swing here’s a favor for any summer party.

The box is die cut from Cherry Cobbler, the flower image is from the Mixed Bunch set and is stamped on Whisper White with Daffodil Yellow ink then die cut with the Blossom punch.  The center image is also from the Mixed Bunch set and is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink.  For added sparkle I used Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details for the center.  The handle was die cut with the Oval Punch then tied with Daffodil Seam binding ribbon.  So simple but this favor would look great on a white plate filled with chocolates.

Happy Birthday Patio Party Bird Card

Hello!  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a challenge to create a project with a bird/peacock.  Great challenge!  My mind just soared with so many ideas!  I’m so excited to share this card because it contains many of the new products found in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog.  So many beautiful stamp sets and products!  I’m going broke if I order everything on my wish list.  The beautiful DSP paper, Patio Party,  features the new In-Colors and I also used card stock from this same collection.  My card also features a new sentiment from the Bitty Banners set that I die cut using the new Bitty Banners Framelits.  No more trying to cut my own banners by hand.  LOVE IT!!  Another new product is the 1/4″ stitched grosgrain ribbon.  This ribbon comes in many colors and the stitching adds so much.

The flower stamped images are from the set Mixed Bunch and die cut with the Blossom punch.  The bird is die cut using the Bird Builder punch.  This punch is a must have because it die cuts a wing, bird and stem with leaves.  So versatile!  The Patio Party DSP layer is the Top Note shape cut narrow.  Cool shape!

Emboss Resist Mixed Bunch Card

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a technique challenge for you – emboss resist.  This technique is lots of fun!  If you haven’t done it before, there’s a great tutorial and video on SCS.  For my card this week I used the Mixed Bunch stamp set and coordinating Blossom punch.  I stamped the flower images then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I added color with sponge daubers and embellished with basic rhinestones colored with Sharpies.  The sentiment is stamped with Versamark and Melon Mambo then heat embossed with clear.  I made a triple loop bow using the 1/2″ Daffodil Delight seam binding.

Color Blocking with a Mixed Bunch

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a color blocking technique challenge.  Color blocking can be achieved by using blocks of color.  You can create this technique with ink and stamps or with paper and dies.  My color blocking technique is achieved with die cut flowers made with the Blossom punch and stamped with the Mixed Bunch stamp set.  I wanted to focus on color so I made a clean and simple card with a Whisper White card base and layer.  Each flower is embellished with a rhinestone.  The flowers are stamped tone on tone.
