Another Abstract Impressions card

As promised, I created another card using the Abstract Impressions bundle.  This time I used the three stamps to create the Daffodil Delight roses.  It’s so easy to stamp these roses.  Just line up the arrows at the top and stamp using the lightest color first using the stamp with least detail as the base then stamp with a darker ink and use the darkest color to stamp with the most detailed stamp.  I inked up my stamp then stamped off twice before stamping, followed by inking the second stamp and stamping off once before stamping.  The last stamp I inked and stamped full strength.  I used the two-stamp method for creating the leaves.  I fussy cut the roses and the leaves and used the dies from the bundle to die cut the detailed floral background the five petaled flowers on the greeting.  The sentiment is from the retired Rose Wonder stamp set then die cut using the Pretty Label punch.  I embellished with a butterfly stamped with the retired Papillon  Potpourri stamp set then colored with markers and die cut using the retired Bitty Butterfly punch.  For extra sparkle I embellished with basic rhinestones and colored the roses, butterfly and leaves with Clear Wink of Stella.

Black and Pink Corset Card

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge inspired me to create these corset cards.  I hadn’t made these in a long time and have dry embossed them.  These versions I decided to heat emboss with two different floral patterns.  Which one do you prefer?  The small or large floral?

I used the large flower stamp from the Beautiful Day stamp set to emboss the corset then heat embossed with Melon Mambo embossing powder.  For the small floral design I used the small flower from the Rose Wonder stamp set.

Blossom Builder Punch are Shells on a Beach

My card this week is inspired by Lynda at Understanding Blue.  I have CASED her card to create this sympathy card.  She has a great tutorial on how to create this card.  I wish my sand would not have turned out so dark but I think on my next try I’ll try a lighter brown.  I still like the effect of the watercolor technique.

Falling in Love Suite Sympathy Card

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is an Inspiration Challenge.  Spring is the inspiration and my card was inspired by the colors of spring which are perfect for the sympathy card I had in mind.  I CASED the card from the Occasions Catalog.  The DSP and doily give this card a special touch. The doily is white on one side and ivory on the other.  I used the white side to contrast with the Very Vanilla sentiment layer.   I used paper from the Falling in Love DSP collection.  The bokeh blurred pattern on the paper are soft and pretty.  I layered vellum underneath the lace doily.  The sentiment is stamped with Soft Sky and Crumb Cake and is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.  I die cut it with the Decorative Label punch and framed with Soft Sky.  The card is embellished with basic pearls.  Super easy card to make!

A Botanical Bloom Thank You

My card this week is inspired by this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.  I love the Botanical Blooms stamp set and framelits because it’s so easy to create beautiful blooms with foliage.  I also used the Rose Garden Thinlits for foliage.   The Bermuda Bay banner is embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder and creates contrast behind the foliage and flowers.  To create texture I used a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge for the spotted  background and gold sequins.

A Swirly Thank You

This week’s challenge is a color challenge, Night of Navy, Pink Pirouette and Gold.  I created my card using the Swirly Bird Bundle.  This bundle is so much fun!  You can create swirlies in different sizes and it has a great dotted stamp which adds texture.  I used this stamp with gold ink for a background.   Here’s my card inspired by page 152 of the NEW Stampin’ Up! Catalog and Idea Book.

I stamped the ‘Thank You’ sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set with Versamark and embossed with gold on to a strip of Whisper Water and cut the edges to create a banner.  I then embellished with gold sequins.  Be inspired by this color challenge and join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Rose Wonder Birthday Card

My card for this week’s color challenge of Blushing Bride, Rose Red and Crumb Cake was created with new products from the Occasions catalog.  The rose cutout and stamp set are from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set  + Rose Garden Thinlits Dies bundle.  I water colored the rose with Blushing Bride and Rose Red using an Aqua painter brush.  This was a simple card to create.  I CASE’D it from the OnStage conference.  I like how my card turned out.
