Vintagle Leaves Sympathy card

My card this week is inspired by the sketch over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I used the sketch portrait style instead of landscape to create my card.  I’m looking forward to fall and the beautiful colors of the leaves so I  used the Vintage leaves stamp set and framelits.  I made the leaves using Christi Becks video for how to color the leaves and the Acorn Builder Punch for the acorn. I embossed a Very Vanilla layer with the Woodland Textured Embossing folder for a background for the leaves.  I love how my card turned out.

Thank you with Botanical Blooms

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge of Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo and Dapper Denim.  These are the new In Colors from Stampin’ Up!

I recently had a birthday and and needed to send a thank you card to my friend.  I created this card with the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies and the sentiment is from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set. The layer with the die cut leaf edge I first applied ink to the uncut layer with a brayer.  I inked it up then rolled it off a few times before rolling onto the layer because I wanted a lighter shade of the Dapper Denim to provide contrast to the flowers.  After drying I die cut the leaf edge then adhered to a layer of Dapper Denim.

I used the Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum and Whisper White card stock to created the flowers. The leaves are Dapper Denim.  The Whisper White was a bit stark so I used the dotted stamp from the Timeless Textures set.  I stamped some of the ink off before stamping on some of the dots so the color is of different intensity.

I stamped the sentiment with Versamark first then Dapper Denim and heat embossed with retired Iridescent embossing powder to make it sparkle.

For Peep’s Sake Enjoy An Egg-Cellent Easter

Hello!  I’m glad to be back creating and blogging.  I’ve been gone for a few week’s due to my father’s passing.  It’s been difficult to get back into the routine of life and to muster up the motivation to be creative.  It’s coming back little by little and  getting back into my craft room and being among my stamp sets and inks has been inspiring.  More inspiration has also come from seeing projects from the Hand Stamped Sentiments design team.

I used the colors of Blackberry Bliss, Blushing Bride and Wild Wasabi from the Hand Stamped Sentiments color splash challenge.  I also have so many great products from the Occasions catalog I had not had an opportunity to use.  One of them is the super cute Easter set For Peep’s Sake.  Perfect for Easter or cute spring card.  Another product I had to play with is the Butterflies Thinlits Dies.  You can create beautiful die cut butterflies with this set.  With so many great products and the colors provided by HSS I was inspired to create this Easter card.

Valentine You Send Me Soaring Card

I’m so glad for My Digital Studio!  I’m in the middle of re-organizing my craft room and everything is upside down.  So for this week’s challenge My Digital Studio was a lifesaver.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge – Rose Red, Smoky Slate and Midnight Muse.  Currently I’m into creating Valentine cards with unconventional colors and these were perfect.  I love the digital stamp set Send me Soaring.  Cute kite and cloud images!

Snowflakes make a Festive Flurry

The next Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is a sketch challenge.  I loved how this sketch challenged me think outside my comfort zone.  I used the Festive Flurry Bundle and the Northern Flurry Textured Embossing folder to create the card below.  I stamped the snowflake with Versamark and Indigo Blue on Vellum card stock then heat embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder for shimmer and die cut it.  The snowflake is adhered to another layer of Vellum I embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder.

To add extra sparkle to the background I used Silver Dazzling Details on the embossed snowflakes.

Thinlits Label Love card

Truly Grateful

Thanksgiving is almost here and it is not the only time to be thankful.  Everyday is a gift and everyday we should appreciate all that is good in our lives.  Stampin’ Up!’s Truly Grateful stamp set has inspired me to create these cards to say Happy Thanksgiving and Thank you.

The first card I CASE’d from the  Stampin’ Success magazine.  The background is stamped with the help of the Stamp-a-ma-jig then stamped with the Truly Grateful background and embossed with gold embossing powder  The Pumpkin Pie banner is layered with a hand cut arrow shape banner and stamped with the lines stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Tags 4 You set.  All the layers are layered with Early Espresso twine.  Such an easy card!

For this other card I used the Expressions Thinlits Dies.  To ensure you can remove the ‘thankful’ from the framelit use two sheets of wax paper between the framelit and the cardstock.  I stamped the wood background in crushed curry then stamped the wheat stalks in Versamark and heat embossed with Early Espresso.  To get the very cool ink splatters I used the Gorgeous Grunge set and Early Espresso ink.  I then added Early Espresso candy dots on the top right.  Another easy to make card.
