Happy Birthday with Layers of Beauty

Inspiration for my card this week comes from the the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge. I was inspired by the flowers and the pink color palette. I used the Layers of Beauty Bundle to create this birthday card. I used a blending brush and the colors of Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop and Berry Burst for the roses. I started with the lightest color first the proceeded with Bubble Bath and finally Berry Burst. The leaves I used a Olive Garden very lightly the used it again but darker wit the last mask. The roses I die cut then adhered GOLD 1-1/2″ (3.8 CM) OPEN WEAVE TRIM behind it over a layer embossed with Birch Wood 3D Embossing folder. I finished with gold metallic butterflies.

Here is the challenge inspiration image. See more inspiration at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Congratulations Graduate

Summer is kicking off and graduation season is here! I was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge to create this graduation card. This card was super easy and can be modified with different colors. I used blue since this is for my niece graduation from Rice University with a Masters in Biomedical Engineering. Our family is so proud of her. I made this card to send with a gift.

I used Blueberry Bushel, Basic White and Silver Foil paper to create this card. The graduation hat I made along with the diploma and the sentiment is from the Translucent Florals stamp set and the die is from the Mixed Labels die set. I made the graduation cap using the instructions by Crystal Best. I rolled a small strip of copy paper and tied with retired Starry Sky ribbon for the diploma. I’ll be making another card for another niece graduating from Texas A&M. She is a Certified Texas Teacher and is applying to school districts and will also be be actively working on her Master’s of Education in Curriculum from A&M. We’re also happy and proud of her as well. This time I will be using the colors of Maroon and White for her card.

I invite you to join the challenge at Hand Stamped Stamped Sentiments.

Layering Leaves Just For You

My card this week is based on the Hand Stamped Inspiration Challenge. I was inspired by the soft colors and used Fresh Freesia and Wild Wheat. I used Layering Leaves stamp set and Bough Punch to create my card. I used the Thoughtful Journey DSP, Fresh Freesia and Wild Wheat card stock along with die cut foliage using the Bough Punch. The circles were die cut using the Spotlight on Nature dies. The card is embellished with basic rhinestones and iridescent 1/2″ ribbon.

Wildflower Birthday Card

The Stampin’ Up Wildflower Birthday Suite makes such beautiful cards. This suite contains stamps, dies, party dots, ribbon and DSP paper which includes die-cuts of flowers, foliage and birthday cakes. The card I created with this suite is a birthday card for a dear friend and inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.

The card base is white. The card front has a DSP Soft Seafom layer followed by an embossed Peach Pie layer followed by an embossed white layer. The cake, flowers and foliage die cuts are layered on the front to create a festive collage. The sentiment is stamped with Blueberry Bushel then fussy cut. The card is embellished with gold open weave trim ribbon and party dots. I also used my Stampin’ Up Color Spritzer Tool with the Bluberry Bushel marker to spritz a bit of color. The tool is retired but you can also use a color spritzer to create the same effect.

Storybook Friends Welcome Little One

The Storybook Friends Bundle is one I couldn’t wait to get! The stamps and dies may be used to make so many different kinds of card and this card was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge of Pecan Pie, Summer Splash and Pretty Peacock. The card I created is for our grandson and his wife expecting their first child and our first great grand child.

The card base is basic white and the DSP is from the 12″ x 12″ Storybook Moments Specialty Designer Series Paper. The next cardis layer is Pecan Pie following by basic white sponged with Summer Splash ink. The frame and bunny are die cut using the Storybook Friends Dies. The bunny I colored with Stampin’ Blends of Summer Splash, Pretty Peacock, Pecan Pie and Real Red. The greeting is from the Storybook Friends stamp set and stamped in Pretty Peacock. I fussy cut the greeting and layered with Pecan Pie. The card is embellished with Antique Pearls.

Sketched Butterflies Beautiful Birthday

I love the Stampin’ Up! Journey 6″ x 6″ Design Series Paper. I love the images and the colors on this paper. I used this paper for the 5″ x 5″ background of my card and added the die cut butterflies die cut from the leftover 1″ strip. I embellished the card with clear rhinestones and stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso. My card was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge.

Stampin’ Up Melon Mambo Layers of Beauty Birthday Card

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is an Inspiration Challenge. I created this birthday card with the Layers of Beauty bundle. This bundle contains the Layers of Beauty stamp set, coordinating dies and masks.

I stamped the roses image with Melon Mambo, then used Pretty and Pink and Berry Burst to color the roses using the masks and blending brush. After coloring the roses image I die cut the image adhered to a layer embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment is stamped with ‘Happy Birthday’ stamp from the Country Birdhouse stamp set then die cut with tag die and embellished with linen thread clear rhinestones colored with Stampin’ Up Melon Mambo dark Blending Pen.

Sketched Butterflies Card

I love butterflies and the Sketched Butterflies bundle is a must-have if you too love butterflies. The card I created is CASED from page 68 of the Annual Catalog and inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge. I stamped the butterflies with VersaMark and Fresh Freesia then water-colored them with a water painter and Fresh Freesia, Pretty Peacock and Wild Wheat. The die cut butterflies behind the water-colored butterflies were die cut from Basic Beige. The white background, Basic White, is stamped with the dots from the stamp set Sketched Butterflies embellished with Adhesive Backed Pearl Trios and framed with Thoughtful Journey DSP.
