Daisy Delight Birthday Card

The card I created this week was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration challenge and new product from the Stampin’ Up catalog.  I’m so in love with the Daisy Delight Bundle!  I created this birthday card using the new Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack and the Daisy Delight Bundle.  I stamped the daisies with Daffodil Delight ink on Daffodil Delight card stock.  For the centers I inked with Versamark a strip of Daffodil Delight and heat embossed with retired Early Espresso embossing powder mixed with retired Iridescent Embossing Powder then punched with 1/2″ circle punch.  The leaves were die cut using the retired Little Leaves Sizzlits and leaves from the Flourish and Rose Garden Thinlets.  The sentiment is from the the Rose Garden stamp set with the end die cut with the Duo Banner Punch.

It’s a birthday fiesta!

I love the Stampin’ Up! Birthday Fiesta bundle!  It’s perfect for this time of year.  Since I live in San Antonio, Fiesta is a big deal.  For 10 days in April, the whole city celebrates with all kinds of events and parades.  Inspired by the city’s festivities and the sketch at Hand Stamped Sentiments, I created this card for a dear friend who’s birthday is in April.  It’s a fun sketch created by Angela McKay.

Stampin Up birthday fiesta cardWith the bundle it’s easy to create all the elements on this card.  I love the ‘papel picado’ banner.  So easy to create.  I die cut the banner in Whisper White then stamped each banner with bright colors.  To create the light color background on the banner I stamped off then stamped the detail of the banner with the stamp fully inked.  To make my card shine, I used clear Wink of Stella all over the ‘Tempting Turquoise’ background and added sequins in Bermuda Bay and gold and basic rhinestones.  I love how it turned out.

To see more inspiration for this challenge go to Hand Stamped Sentiments.  You have until noon Monday, May 1st, 2017 to submit your creation.

Just a Note to LIFT your Spirits

I was inspired to create this card by the ‘Lift me Up’ bundle and the color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments of Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate.

Using the ‘Lift me Up’ bundle which includes the ‘Lift me up’ stamp set and ‘Up and Away’ thinlits dies was so easy to create the beautiful die cut hot air balloon and clouds with this set.

Although the color challenge was to use Pool Party, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate, I used Flirty Flamingo and Blushing Bride to create an hombre effect on the balloon.

Stampin Up Lift me Up hot air balloon cardDifficult to see but I used Clear Wink of Stella on the hot air balloon.  I also used basic rhinestones on  the balloon for extra shine.   Visit Hand Stamped Sentiments to see more inspiration and take the color challenge.

Acorny Thank You

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a sketch challenge.  I created my card with the Acorny stamp set and coordinating punch.  I love this stamp set and with the punch it makes it so easy to create cute little acorns.  I wanted for the acorns to stand out so I put them on a layer which I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Embossing folder.

2013 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.  Thank you to all my subscribers for your visits!

Madison Square Garden can seat 20,000 people for a concert. This blog was viewed about 62,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Madison Square Garden, it would take about 3 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

Happy Mother’s Day Doily card

Don’t forget mom or the one who cared for you like mom.  My mom passed away many years ago and my grandmother and aunt were there for me and my siblings.  My grandmother has also passed away but I still have my dear aunt.  She’s the one who now cares for me like my mom.  So to all moms and those who have given love, care and support like a mom, Happy Mother’s Day and know we appreciate all you do.

This week’s challenge is a color challenge- Summer Starfruit, Real Red, Bashful Blue, Basic Black.  These colors were suggested by Bobbie Trost on our Hand Stamped Sentiments design team.  She did a great job with this color combo.  I would not have thought to put these colors together.  I love them!

I hope these colors inspire you to create and share your project with us on Hand Stamped Sentiments.
