A Parisian Birthday

I’ve been wanting to use the Love Letter DSP with the Artistic Etchings Stamp Set.  The patterns are beautiful and as usual I always have a problem deciding which side to use.  I made this box with three cards and stamped the envelopes to match for a friend’s birthday.  This project came together very easy.  I first made the box with the chip board that comes with the DSP. You can also use Stampin’ Up!’s cardstock but if you want to use DSP you need to adhere it to a thicker stock therefore I used the chip board.   SCS has a great tutorial on how to make this box.

I first cut the chip board to size then adhered a slightly larger piece of  DSP over the chip board and trimmed to the size of the chip board.  I then scored as instructed and assembled the box as instructed on the SCS A2 box tutorial.

I decorated the top of the box with a strip of the Love Letter DSP red medallion DSP.  I was dying to use the frame for the Notably Ornate stamp set which I stamped on a Very Vanilla layer with Basic Black ink then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I rounded the corners then sponged with Basic Black and Riding Hood Red.  I stamped the crown on Very Vanilla and used my paper snips to cut out then sponged with Riding Hood Red.  The Eiffel Tower is stamped with Basic Black then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Paper snips and a hobby blade were used to cut the Eiffel tower.  The crown and the tower are adhered with Dimensionals and embellished the frame with the Basic Pearls.  I love the Basic Pearls.  They’re perfect for embellishing any card because they come in three sizes.  The knotted ribbon is adhered with a mini glue dot.  I punched a border out of a strip of DSP and adhered to the back of the frame layer then adhered the completed layer to the box.

I created the three cards with different DSP from the Love Letter group and used the Artistic Etchings stamp set.  The fan fold instructions can be found on SCS.

Hand Stamped Sentiments – From A Card to Something Else – Challenge #39

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is so much fun!  The challenge is to be inspired to create a 3D gift project from a card.  I created a card with the Northern Hearts hostess stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  This stamp set is so versatile.  It’s a Christmas stamp set but can be used for Valentine’s or a birthday.  I love it!  This stamp set can only be earned with a minimum workshop of $150.  Email me to book your workshop so you can earn this stamp set.

With Christmas around the corner I decided to create a Christmas gift set.  I created the card using the bird image in a heart then thought about putting it together with a heart box.  The heart box is perfect for a small gift.  I purchased the heart box from a craft store and painted it with white acrylic paint.  I traced the lid on Cherry Cobbler card stock, cut it out and stamped the bird image in craft Whisper White then adhered it to the top of the lid.  I stamped the image with Cherry Cobbler ink on Whisper White card stock then cut it out banner style.  I also added small half pearls, and used the Eyelet border punch for trimming and the Perfect Polka dots embossing folder to give my project that extra touch.  The sentiment is from the Contempo Christmas stamp set which is perfect.  I hope you’re inspired to participate in this fun challenge.

Perfectly Packaged Bags, Tags Boxes and more

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiment’s we have a package theme challenge.  I’ve needed to say thank you to our dear neighbors and I thought to create a thank you project for this challenge would be perfect.  Inspired by Mary Fish and her pizza box tutorial project I decided to CASE her project and make these 3″ x 3″ thank you cards perfect to put inside this pizza box.  Mary always has clean, simple and stunning projects.  Hop on over to her blog and take a look at her wonderful projects.

For my project I decided to use the Day of Gratitude stamp set and Cajun Craze ink and card stock.  I did not like this color when it first was introduced but now I absolutely love it for all my fall projects.  It’s perfect!

A Halloween Treat

I created this box for my make and take for my September workshops.  Using the Matchbox die made this project super easy!  My guests loved using the Big Shot to create this box.

I first had them cut the box bottom from Pumpkin Pie and the top out of Basic Black card stock.  I had them fold the crease lines to the top then they ran it through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  They assembled the top then smooched it with Silver Smooch.  The tag is cut from the same die.  You get three different tags along with this die.  So versatile.

They stamped the spider web on the tag then stamped ‘have a Wicked halloween’ on Pumpkin Pie then punched with the 1″ circle.  To pop up the sentiment they used a Stampin’ Dimensional and adhered off center so you could see the spider web.

For an extra elegant touch I had them add the Black Satin ribbon with mini glue dots and voila! An easy treat box.  My workshop guests then filled it with Hershey kisses.  The box is so elegant you can give them to Halloween dinner guests.  Of course the possibilities are endless for this box and can be made to fit the different holidays.  Have fun creating these boxes.

I have also submitted my treat box for the Challenge #10 Halloween Theme challenge from Really Reasonable Ribbon’s Ramblings blog.  So much fun!

It’s in the bag

For this week at Hand Stamped Sentiments – Anything but a Card challenge I decided to recreate a purse I saw online.  The purse I saw on Purse Boutique is so cute!  So I thought this purse out of paper would be perfect for a small gift or gift card.  I cut the purse out of Basic Black card stock then ran it through my Big Shot with the Weave Texture plate.  I made the handles out  of braided grosgrain and added the spiral flower to the front.  Easy!  Here’s my inspiration and below it my creation.  I’ll post the template information in the next few days.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Luau Theme Challenge #24

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have a Luau Theme Challenge.  I had fun creating these projects with My Digital Studio software.  I created a card and favor box using the digital stamps Petal Pizzazz included with initial purchase of MDS.  I used this stamp set because the flowers were big and bold.  Just perfect for this theme.  I printed a layer with the images and sentiment then adhered it to Old Olive card stock and added ribbon.  So easy!  The next project I also created with My Digital Studio but this time I had some hibiscus clipart I wanted to use.  I was able to import the images into My Digital Studio but first I had convert the .jpg images to  .png files then put them into the embellishments folder in MDS so I could access them.  In MDS I created a background with both the Petal Pizzazz and hibiscus images to add behind the flower images and to also make the favor boxes.  The templates for these boxes can be purchased for $1.95.

Summertime Splendor cards

Continuing with yesterday’s theme I also created these cards using the digital download Summertime Splendor.  These  beautiful backgrounds are perfect for any of your summer projects.  In my previous post I created beautiful party favor or gift boxes.  Today with the help of My Digital Studio and the Summertime Splendor digital backgrounds these are the cards I created.  Patty Bennett has a wonderful tutorial showing how to make card fronts in My Digital studio.  I made these four cards in about 45 minutes.  So easy!
