A Poinsettia Petals Merry Christmas

My card for this challenge was inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge and the beautiful Poinsettia Petals bundle.  The card was designed by friend and fellow stamper Minnie Cieslak.  She created this card using the Poinsettia bundle, Evergreen Forest 3d Embossing folder and the Stitched Seasons.  The suite also contains the beautiful pearl and rhinestone centers for the Poinsettias.  The greeting is heat embossed in Silver.  The foliage and frame are die cut from Silver foil.  The inside is also stamped with images from this stamp set.

Merry Christmas with a Flight of Fancy

I was so excited to create with the Flight of Fancy of stamp set from the Stampin’ Up current holiday mini catalog.  It features images for three different holidays – Christmas, Halloween and Valentines.  I’m so loving these super cute images of an angel, witch and cherub.  I created this Christmas card with color inspiration of Mint Macaron, Cinnamon Cider and Crumb Cake, from Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Stampin up Christmas card, Stampin Up Flights of Fancy card, angel cards, Stampin Up

I used Whisper White for the card base then used Crumb Cake embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.  The Mint Macaron I die cut using the second to largest rectangle die.  I stamped the angel image with Momento Black on Whisper White then die cut using the second to largest of the Stitched Nested Labels die.  I colored the image with SU blender pens with Mint Macaron, Cinnamon Cider and Crumb Cake ink pads.  After letting the image dry I used a small brush to paint with Champagne Mist ink on the hair, tunic, snowflakes and roofs to add shimmer.  I stamped the greeting with Cinnamon Cider and Versamark then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I like how it made the color a bit metallic.  The Mint Macaron ribbon is from the holiday mini catalog, Basket Weave & Metallic Ribbon combo pack and used the 1/4″ Cinnamon Cider twill ribbon.  For extra sparkle I added basic rhinestones.

A Toile Christmas Cardinal

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge of Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Shaded Spruce.  When I first saw these colors I immediately thought Christmas and took the opportunity to finally use my new Toile Christmas Bundle.  I had to get this bundle because of the cardinal stamp and die.  I love cardinals and actually see them quite often in my backyard.  They are beautiful birds with their bight red feathers.

I knew I wanted to use the Woodland Embossing folder for the background to my card.  I inked up the folder with Coastal Cabana and embossed a Very Vanilla card stock layer and layered over a Real Red and Very Vanilla Christmas Toile DSP.  I stamped the cardinal and branch with black Momento ink then colored it with Real Red and Shaded Spruce dark and light blender pens.  I stamped the greeting with Versa mark then heat embossed with Silver embossing powder.  I then die cut the cardinal, branch and greeting with the dies then adhered using glue dots.  I also used retired 3/8″ Real Red mixed satin ribbon.

Merry and Bright Christmas!

Christmas is around the corner and I’m still in the process of making Christmas cards.   I’m using the Making Christmas Bright Photopolymer Bundle and All is Bright DSP to make cards from these products.  One of the cards I created is based on the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  The bundle comes with the stamp set and coordinating bulb punch which makes is super easy to create very merry Christmas cards.

I used the lattice from the Petals and More thinlits and the circle from the Layering Circles thinlits sets.  I used gold fold for the latice to give a rich look.  The cording is from the holiday catalog.  The sentiment is stamped on Crumb Cake with Call me Clover ink.  The end were punched using retired ticket corner punch.  The cute light bulb were stamped then die cut with the Christmas bulb builder punch then used the gold cording to string them.

I will post more of my Christmas cards over then next couple of weeks.

Still Night Owl Sending Warm Wishes

I love owls so I was super excited to see the Still Night bundle in the new Stampin’ Up  holiday catalog.  The bundle includes a stamp set and coordinating thinlits dies.  The card I created is also for the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.

With this bundle you can create Halloween or Christmas cards.  For my card I created a Christmas card.  I used the Woodland Textured Embossing Folder for the background.  I die cut the owl and branch with Whisper White and Early Espresso.  I used the Early Espresso die cut to create a shadow behind the white.  The leaves were die cut from Garden Green card stock.  The sentiment was stamped with Garden Green ink then die cut with the oval from the set.  To add to the snow background I colored the background with Clear Wink of Stella.  I included a close up photo with different light so you could see the Clear Wink of Stella.

‘Tis the Season

‘Tis the season for snowflakes and Christmas.  On Thursday something rare happened…it snowed in San Antonio.  We got about 2 inches of snow and for about a day we had a glimpse of a white Christmas.  It was lovely. The snowfall inspired me to create Christmas card based on the color challenge of Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Twist.

I used these the snowflake dies from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to die cut the snowflakes from Silver Glimmer paper then sponged them with Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight and Lemon Twist.  The background layer I embossed with the Softly Falling Embossing folder.  I embellished with basic rhinestones, gold satin ribbon and gold sequin trip.  The sentiment is from the Christmas Pines stamp set which I stamped with Black and embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder for sparkle.

Jingle all the way on a sleigh ride

Inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments and Hallmark Christmas movies I created this card with the Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Jingle all the Way stamp set.  The Pool Party  layer I embossed with the Gently Falling embossing folder.  I used strips of Whisper White and Vellum to die cut the town, trees and sleigh.

I used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter to accent the hills and roofs.   For the sentiment I used heat stick powder and embellished with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  I also die cut a star from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper. To wrap it all up I used 1/8″ silver ribbon and basic rhinestones.

‘Tis the Season to Sparkle with Seasonal Layers

My card this week has been inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments  sketch challenge and all the Christmas movies I’ve been watching on the Hallmark channel.  Every year as part of preparing for the holidays I watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel.  All the movies seem to start with a beautiful snowy setting which made me think snowflakes which made me think the snowflakes from the Seasonal  Layers Thinlits Dies.  This die set is so versatile because it has images for every season.  It contains three different snowflakes which I die cut from Whisper White, Silver Foil paper and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.  I used Smoky Slate for the background layer and embossed the Whisper White layer with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder then added the 1/8″ silver ribbon in a swirl pattern using glue dots.  I then adhered the snowflakes to create my snowy scene.  The sentiment ‘Tis the Season to Sparkle’ is from the Season to Sparkle stamp set which I die cut from retired Scallop Oval Punch.

For more sparkle I added rhinestones and silver sequins.Stampin Up Seasonal Layers Snowflake Christmas cardGo to Hand Stamped Sentiments to see more inspiration from the design team.

Lovely as a Tree for Christmas

My card is based on this week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments which is an inspiration challenge. The challenge inspired me to use the Lovely as a Tree stamp set and the Woodlands Embossing folder to create a white Christmas card.

After embossing the white layer with the Woodland Embossing folder I colored the tree trunks with Gold Wink of Stella Glitter pen.  On another layer I stamped the trees with Chocolate Chip ink then traced the branches of the trees with the Gold Wink of Stella Glitter pen to make them sparkle then embellished with the Cherry Cobbler ribbon.

The inside of the card I stamped with silver Encore ink with stamps from the Christmas Pines set.

Festive Poinsettia Flower is Joy of the Season

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge inspired my Christmas poinsettia card this week.  My card base is Whisper White.  The diagonal stripe DSP is from the Candy Cane Lane paper assortment.  Love this paper!  The Garden Green layer was embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  I used a strip of Gold Satin ribbon.  After stamping the leaves and the petals of the poinsettia I traced the veins with clear Wink of Stella glitter pen.   After assembling the flower I put a gold doily behind it and used dimensionals to adhere to the Garden Green layer.  I embellished the Gold Satin Ribbon with small pearls.  I also used gold sequins and pearls to embellish the card.  I gold embossed the sentiment from the Christmas Pines stamp set on the Whisper White banner.
