Thinking of you this winter

Living in San Antonio we don’t get very cold winters but sometimes we get snow like in December 2017.  This winter has been very mild and haven’t had freezing temperatures but one day.  However, I can still have a wintry scene if only onmy cards.  This week my snowflake card is inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge.

Stampin Up Colorful Seasons Thinking of You Snowflake cardI used the Seasonal Layers dies to die cut the snowflakes.  I embossed the background with the retired Softly Falling embossing folder.  The sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set Colorful Seasons.  I stamped ‘Thinking of you’ with Versamark then heat embossed with silver  embossing powder.  I also added basic rhinestones for extra sparkle.

Fall is a Colorful Season

Although the first day of fall was September 23, it’s still summer in San Antonio, Texas.  I have my fall wreath on my door and my mantle decorated with leaves and pumpkins in anticipation for a cool reprieve of say 75 degrees so we can say it’s fall.  Fall in some states can be quite beautiful with trees in different colors of yellow, orange and red.  Here we will see some color changes in trees.  Until then the leaves on the card I created today will have to do and is inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge of Pretty Peacock, Mint Macaron, Terracotta Tile and Grapefruit Grove.  When I saw these colors I immediately thought of fall leaves.

I used the Colorful Seasons stamp set and Seasonal Layers dies to create my card.  This card came together very quickly with stamping the leaves and die cutting leaves out of gold foil as accents.  The sentiment is also from the set and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  The leaves layer is adhered to a Pretty Peacock layer on a Thick White Card stock.  I also used Clear Faceted gems and 3/8″ linen ribbon from the Magnolia Lane Ribbon Combo pack to embellish.

Life is a Beautiful Thing with Colorful Seasons

I love creating with the Colorful Seasons Bundle .  The bundle is so versatile especially when paired with the Color Theory Cardstock pack.  The card I created was inspired by Hand  Stamped Sentiments Inspiration challenge.  Fall is on it’s way and the images in the challenge inspired me to create a card with the beautiful colors of Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral.

The gradient background is out of the Color Theory Cardstock pack.  I stamped the leaf image all over the gradient background with white StayzOn.  The leaf images are very subtle.  I also stamped the leaves with VersaMark and heat embossed with Copper embossing powder. The leaves were die cut using the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies.  I stamped the sentiment  VersaMark on watercolor paper then heat embossed with clear embossing powder and sponged Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral to create a gradient effect.  I also die cut the small leaf on watercolor paper and sponged with Crushed Curry and Calypso Coral to match the gradient effect of the sentiment background.

Stampin Up Colorful Seasons cardI finished the card with basic rhinestones to give it some sparkle.  Hop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments for more inspiration from the design team.

Thank You with Colorful Seasons

I’ve just started to play with the Colorful Seasons Photopolymer Bundle.  I love this bundle because of the versatility and the images for each season.  For my card I was inspired by the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.

Stampin Up Colorful Seasons cardI embossed the brick background using the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  I die cut the  Adirondack chair, branch and flowers with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits dies.  I also added Clear Wink of Stella to the flowers and a basic rhinestone to the flower centers.  The grass was created with Old Olive and Lemon Twist.  So much fun to create with this bundle and so many possibilities.
