Hello there with a Flowering Desert!

For the past few days it’s been rainy and cold.  So to bring a bit of sunshine and lift my spirits I finally inked up my Flowering Desert stamp set.  I love this set!  There are subtleties of color in the images that make the images look like they were water-colored.  The background is stamped on vellum and I used the layering ovals to die cut the Lovely Lipstick and Whisper White ovals.  The saguaro cactus cactus, flowers and yuccas  I stamped and fussy cut.  I used dimensionals to adhere the saguaro cactus and yuccas to the Whisper White oval.

I then took the Pear Pizzazz card stock and stamped the prickly pear images with Lovely Lipstick flowers.  I did stamp off the flowers to get a lighter shade.  The sentiment was stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black and die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.

Thank you with a Climbing Orchid

Happy New Year!  2018 has flown by and now 2019 is beginning.  I’m hoping to continue to be inspired to create and thankful for another year filled with friends and family.  Which has also inspired me along with the the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments to create this thank you card.

It’s a simple card with the orchid as a focal point and a greeting of thank you.  I rotated the rectangle layer of the sketch to fit my flower and sentiment.  The Orchid Builder bundle is currently in the Stampin Up 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  I stamped the background with the Hardwoods stamp in Momento Black.  The leaves were die cut with the Leaf punch.

Merry and Bright Christmas!

Christmas is around the corner and I’m still in the process of making Christmas cards.   I’m using the Making Christmas Bright Photopolymer Bundle and All is Bright DSP to make cards from these products.  One of the cards I created is based on the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  The bundle comes with the stamp set and coordinating bulb punch which makes is super easy to create very merry Christmas cards.

I used the lattice from the Petals and More thinlits and the circle from the Layering Circles thinlits sets.  I used gold fold for the latice to give a rich look.  The cording is from the holiday catalog.  The sentiment is stamped on Crumb Cake with Call me Clover ink.  The end were punched using retired ticket corner punch.  The cute light bulb were stamped then die cut with the Christmas bulb builder punch then used the gold cording to string them.

I will post more of my Christmas cards over then next couple of weeks.

Painted Harvest Sunflowers

Fall is a great time of year !  The weather is cooler and the colors are warm.  This time of year and the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments inspired me to create a card with the Painted Harvest stamp set.

I stamped the sunflowers and foliage at the corner on Very Vanilla and fussy cut them.  I also stamped the leaves around the sunflowers and die cut with the Leaf punch. The sentiment is also from the stamp set and the banner end is die cut with the Banner Triple punch.  The DSP layer is from the Painted Autumn Design retired collection.

For added sparkle I used Clear Wink of Stella on the sunflowers, basic rhinestones on the background and gold metallic thread behind the sunflowers.

Still Night Owl Sending Warm Wishes

I love owls so I was super excited to see the Still Night bundle in the new Stampin’ Up  holiday catalog.  The bundle includes a stamp set and coordinating thinlits dies.  The card I created is also for the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.

With this bundle you can create Halloween or Christmas cards.  For my card I created a Christmas card.  I used the Woodland Textured Embossing Folder for the background.  I die cut the owl and branch with Whisper White and Early Espresso.  I used the Early Espresso die cut to create a shadow behind the white.  The leaves were die cut from Garden Green card stock.  The sentiment was stamped with Garden Green ink then die cut with the oval from the set.  To add to the snow background I colored the background with Clear Wink of Stella.  I included a close up photo with different light so you could see the Clear Wink of Stella.

Abstract Impressions create a field of flowers

This week I was inspired to CASE a card from a very talented demonstrator, Katrina Duffell.  Her simple card of colorful flowers inspired me along with the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  I water colored Balmy Blue for the background with a bit of Coastal Cabana.  I started stamping the flowers light to dark and like Katrina added flowers as needed.  The flowers were stamped with the circle flowers from the Abstract Impressions stamp set.  I’m loving this set because of the many types of flowers included.  I created the stems with Old Olive watercolor pencils then used an aqua painter and added the linen thread.

Thinking of you with a Pop of Paradise

I love the Pop of Paradise stamp set.  This stamp set is one that is retiring at the end of the month.   I created the card for a family member  and want to send it to her to let her know I’m thinking about her and wish her a speedy recovery. She’s going through cancer treatment and just want her to know I’m with her in spirit since I can’t be with her.  My plan is to send her a card every week.  In this age of email and social media I think it’s nice to get a letter or hand made card in the mail.

With Sympathy with Flourishing Phrases

My card this week is inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.  I needed a sympathy card and wanted some calming colors.  I selected Dapper Denim, Soft Sky and Fresh Fig.  I love how these colors go together so well.  I also used the Flourish thinlits to create the die cut and colored parts of it with the Wink of Stella Gold.  For embellishments I used retired Venetian Crochet Trim and basic rhinestones.  This card came together very easily.

Say it with a Fruit Basket

Say ‘You are the sweetest’ with a fruit basket.  That’s what I say.  My card this week is inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.  I had not stamped with the Fruit Basket stamp set from the Occasions Catalog.  This stamp set may be purchased as a bundle with the Itty Bitty Fruit Punch Pack to receive .  There are 4 punch shapes that coordinate with this stamp set.  I used the strawberry shape to die cut the strawberries.  For the bowl I stamped it in Momento Black first on the die cut circle.  I then stamped another bowl and fussy cut it and adhered it over the stamped image.

Happy New Year and Dragonfly Dreams!

Happy New Year and all the best for 2018!  I look forward to a fresh new start.  The new year and Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge both inspired me to create my card.  I chose the colors of Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party which to me remind me of spring.

The background on the larger layer I created using the smoosh ink technique with Emerald Envy, Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party.  The background on the smaller layer I created with the dot stamp from the Dragonfly Dreams set.  The dragonfly I die cut from Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper then embellished with basic rhinestones.
