By the Tide inspired by Stampin’ Up!’s 2014-2015 Idea Catalog

My card this week is inspired by page 130 of the new catalog.  Although the stamp set ‘By the Tide’ is not new to the catalog there are many great ideas for projects throughout the catalog.  Every time I look through the catalog I see something new.  Every page is full of ideas on how to use different projects.  This card features watercolor  paper which gives your project an artistic feel.

I stamped the coral on the watercolor layer then went over some of the branches with an aqua pen.  The fish, seahorse and seashell were stamped then fussy cut.  I also stamped the edges of the watercolor paper with the dotted stamp from ‘Gorgeous Grunge’ with Baked Brown Sugar.  I used linen thread at the bottom and tied with white Baker’s twine I dyed with Pear Pizzazz.

To add sparkle I lightly added Dazzling Details to the card.  It’s difficult to see but you should be able see it when you magnify the card.

My Digital Studio Friend card and a NEW CATALOG!

I created this card on My Digital Studio for Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge.  Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding and Blushing Bride.   My digital card was also inspired by a card on page 111 of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog.  YES!  It’s a brand new catalog with so many wonderful products.  You can see the catalog by clicking on the image of the catty on the right side of my blog.

Thoughts and Prayers Sympathy Card

Unfortunately, we sometimes need sympathy cards and this card was inspired by Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge. I recently had a dear friend pass away and this card will go to his family.

Happiness is: Scrapbooking with Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio

Here it is again!  Another fun color challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Lately I have been making an effort to use My Digital Studio to scrapbook pages with my fur babies.  I took the pictures I used in this page in March when our irises bloomed.  I thought it would be cute to take photos of my pets with the irises but some how they don’t always do what I want.  I did manage to photograph Chula my Chihuahua in front of them but she really wasn’t interested.  The only way I could get a cute pic of my kitty was to put him in this basket since he loves boxes and small places.  He stayed in the basket just long enough for me to snap a picture.

People Like You Watercolor Card

A sketch challenge!  That’s this week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  For this card I used some  wonderful products from the Occasions catalog.

The flower stamp with sentiment is called ‘People Like You’.  I stamped it on watercolor paper with Versamark and heat embossed with Early Espresso.  I added color with a watercolor pen and ink pads.  I layered it over Tangerine Tango then layered over Water Color Wonder Designer Series paper and layered over Daffodil Delight.

The dotted Tangerine Tango banner is created using Retro Fresh This and That Designer Washi tape and embellished with pearls I colored with an orange permanent marker.

I stamped the sentiment again and embossed with Early Espresso then die cut with the Decorative Label punch and adhered with dimensionals.  I also used a small piece of a Tea lace Doily to embellish the sentiment.

It’s Sale-a-bration!

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a sketch challenge.  Since my craft room is still in disarray I used My Digital Studio to create this 8″ x 8″ scrapbook page.  I found these photos I took of my Bengal kitties in a Sale-a-bration box and I knew I wanted to create a scrapbook page.  Sadly the kitty with the topaz eyes is no longer with us but I still have photos and memories to remember him.

Valentine You Send Me Soaring Card

I’m so glad for My Digital Studio!  I’m in the middle of re-organizing my craft room and everything is upside down.  So for this week’s challenge My Digital Studio was a lifesaver.  This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments is a color challenge – Rose Red, Smoky Slate and Midnight Muse.  Currently I’m into creating Valentine cards with unconventional colors and these were perfect.  I love the digital stamp set Send me Soaring.  Cute kite and cloud images!

Valentine’s with Stampin’ Up! Circle and Label Thinlits die

Love the Circle and Label Thinlits dies!  This week for Handstamped Sentiments Sketch challenge I created this card using the Circle Thinlits die with elements from the Label Thinlits.

For this fun card I used a new Valentine’s color combo of Real Red, Pool Party, Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight.  It was a lot of fun creating this card using Stampin’ Up! items from my latest stash from the Occasions catalog.  So many Stampin’ Up! products to play with with and so little time.    The Circle thinlits die made it so easy to create this card.

I started with a Whisper White card base of 5-7/8″ x 5-1/2″ then die cut using the Circle framelits die and the Big Shot.

I used the Real Red from the Polka Dot Parade DSP on the right panel then just went crazy embellishing with hearts and such.  I also used the Large Scallop Edgelits die to die cut the scallop edge in Real Red.  The left side of the panel is stamped with the “Countless Sayings 1” Photopolymer Stamp set.  If you haven’t tried Stampin’ Up!’s Photopolymer stamps, you’re in for a treat.  The images are crisp and you can see precisely where you’re stamping.

Also used was the heart from the Owl builder punch.  The sentiment “love ya”  is from the “Just Sayin’ stamp set and Thinlits bundle.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed with White embossing powder.  The “i love u’ is from the Label Card Thinlits die set.  Also used was the scallop heart die from ” Hearts a Flutter” framelits set and the Small heart punch.  To finish the card I used lots basic rhinestones.
