A Fitting Thank you

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is paper piecing.  This is a fun technique that adds lot of pizzazz to your hand stamp cards, and it’s easy to do!

HSS May Logos-004

All you have to do is stamp your image on paper or cardstock, cut it out and add it to your project.  You can keep it simple,  or use a more detailed stamp, stamp it on different colors and/or patterns of paper and layer your heart out!

For my project I used the Chic Boutique stamp set and the Love Letter DSP to paper piece the dress forms.  I used my Stamp-A-MaJig to position the design on my form then stamped it with Versamark, Classic Black ink then heat embossed it Iridescent Ice Stampin‘ Emboss Powder.  I love this powder because it adds just the right sparkle.  I cut out the dress form images.  I stamped three dress forms on a Very Vanilla Top Note Layer that has been altered to look like a square.  I trimmed the Very Vanilla Top Note square layer by cutting along the perfed edge.  It’ very easy to make this shape.  Click here for  tutorial on creating this fun shape and a circle.  I die cut another shape in Riding Hood Red to layer behind the Very Vanilla.  So easy!  See below for card recipe.

Paris on a Scooter

Doesn’t the scooter in On the Grow stamp set remind you of touring Paris?  I love this stamp set!  This set is available in the new Stampin’ Up! Summer Mini and for some inspiration I used the sketch from Mojo Monday.  I wanted to create a card that was bright and full of flowers so I used the digital Beyond the Garden DSP.  I printed four patterns on an 8.5″ x11″ paper and then used them on my card to create a hybrid project.  I stamped the scooter image on the yellow flowers dsp and gave my scooter a custom paint job then colored the rest of it with watercolor pencils and blender pen.  Creating this card was a lot of fun.  See my blog tomorrow to see the scrap page I created with this set.

Voilà, Merci! It’s all gone to the French

Here’s another card I made using the little chef from the Voila! stamp set with a Christmas twist.  This card was made to thank a dear friend for a wonderful holiday dinner.  She also shares my addiction for stamping and loves all things French.  To thank her I made this card using the paper piecing technique with scraps from the Christmas Jingle Scrappin’ kit.
