Fall is in the air…

Well it looks like fall is definitely here!  Today when I went out this morning to walk my dog there was a slight chill and it felt so nice because the sun was just beginning to peek out.  All this inspired me to create this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiment’s Baby Wipe Technique Challenge card with the Autumn Splendor and Day of Gratitude stamp sets.  This technique is perfect for capturing the different leaf colors.  I used Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Old Olive re-inkers on my baby wipe.  I then used the baby wipe ink pad to stamp the Autumn Splendor leaf images and Punch Potpourri bird image on Very Vanilla card stock.

I used the Scallop Trim corner and border punches on the Very Vanilla layers.  I ran the smaller Very Vanilla layer through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder.   Both Very Vanilla layers were sponged with Pumpkin Pie.

The Chocolate Chip layer is distressed with scissors.

I implemented the tone on tone technique and stamped the medallion image from the Day of Gratitude stamp set with Old Olive ink on the Old Olive layer.  I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and Chocolate Chip ink then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  As a final touch I added a half pearl for the eye of the bird and to the corner of the Old Olive layer.

I enjoyed this technique and encourage you to try it.  It’s very easy and results are beautiful.  You can go here to SCS to see a written and video tutorial for this technique.  Once you’ve created your baby wipe technique project please post it to the Hand Stamped Sentiments site.

Saying Thank You With Anything BUT A Card – PPA13

Next week my sister is having a SU  party.  To say thank you for hosting I made this cute box with handle.  I am going to fill it with goodies (stamp, color spot, candy).  This would also make a great hostess gift if you’re invited for Thanksgiving dinner.  It’s a good way to not show up empty-handed.

The pattern for the box is from SU.

Autumn Leaves

My inspiration for today’s card comes from PPA.  It was a sketch challenge designed by Margaret Moody.  Since there’s a crispness in the air I decided to use my Autumn Splendor stamp set again.  I love the leaf shapes and they can be many different colors and colored with markers or water color pencils.  I love using water color pencils and blending the colors with a blender pen.  I hope this inspires you with your fall crafts.

The Splendid Table

When you’re getting ready for Thanksgiving don’t just think about what you’re going to wear.  Your table also needs to be dressed to look inviting.  My Thanksgiving table will look splendid with my new napkin rings, place cards and decorated candles all done with Stampin’ Up! products.  My guests will also be invited with coordinating invitations.  Stampin’ Up! Products are so versatile.  The Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper all so beautiful I had a difficult time deciding on which pattern to use.  I wanted a dressy coordinating ribbon and ended up using an ivory organza ribbon that I dyed with the Soft Suede ink pad.  I hope this inspires you to dress up your table for Thanksgiving.

A note of Gratitude and Thanks PPA10

Being grateful and thankful is not only for Thanksgiving.  To live a balanced life we all must be thankful of everything everyday.  Thankful for family, friends, work and for the opportunity to create and live our lives the very best we can.  We must take a moment everyday smell the roses and be grateful.  Every experience and moment shapes our being and allows us to grow.  Not only this Thanksgiving but every day I try to take note and be grateful for everything in my life.  This project is for the PPA weekly challenge Gratitude and Thanks.  I was so excited because I just received the SU Autumn Splendor stamp set.  This is my first project using this set.
