Voilà! Dinner is served

My friend held a dinner for all our friends to kick-off the holidays.  She had purchased the Voilà stamp set keeping in mind she wanted to use it to create menus and place cards.   For her holiday party I helped her create a menu holder and place cards for her dinner party.  This little guy is so cute and so versatile.   He can hold many different items on the platter in his hand.  He’ll add a touch of whimsy to your next dinner party.  This stamp set will make a great hostess holiday gift.

Very Merry Snowflakes PPA17 Sketch Challenge

This card was created for this week’s PPA sketch challenge by Margaret Moody, a talented pal known for her clean layouts and stunning design.  I wanted to use my sister’s new stamp set Snow Swirled.  I love this stamp set.  I used the snowflake stamp and some scraps leftover from my Holiday Card Event.  Red and green are the traditional colors for Christmas so I decided to do my take on this card with the snowflake background and a strip of textured paper done with the Petals-A-Plenty Stampin’ Up! Textured Impressions Folder for the Big Shot. I like the way my card turned out.  Let me know what you think.

Joyful Cardinal

Cardinals have long been associated with Christmas because of their beautiful red color.  They have become a symbol of the beauty and warmth of the holiday season and to see this bird on a cloudy winter day brings cheer, hope and inspiration.  Their red plumage also remind us to focus on faith because its representation of the blood of Christ shed for the redemption of humankind.  I love the holidays because they remind us of the blessings we must be thankful and to renew our faith in humankind.

I hope this card inspires you in your holiday card-making.

Home for Christmas

Home for Christmas is what we wish for our military men and women.  However this wish may not come true but we can remember them by sending them holiday cards.  The American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes have teamed up to invite the public to “Send a Touch of Home”to service men and women.  Wouldn’t it be nice for them to receive a holiday card handmade by you?  To get more information on how to send holiday cards to our soldiers go to http://www.redcross.org/holidaymail.  Our soldiers will appreciate it.

Yesterday my friend and I stamped with her new Christmas stamp set Home for Christmas. We saw this card on Stampin’ with Jaydee’s blog and decided to try making cards based on hers.  She did a beautiful job with her snow.  Here’s is my Home for Christmas card.  I hope this inspires you to make your own holiday cards this year.
