Birthday Bakery

Now that I’ve given my friend her birthday card I can post it.  I CASED this card from Diana Gibbs.  She has a wonderful video tutorial on her blog.  I’ve been wanting to use the Birthday Bakery stamp set and this was the perfect opportunity.  This stamp set is so cute and is a hostess level 1 stamp set that can be earned with a $150 workshop.  If you’d like to earn this stamp set call me to book your workshop.

I was trying to use colors that would look like a little shop in Paris.  The photo was difficult to photograph but I also used Dazzling Diamonds and Moonlighting Smooch on the baked goods which worked perfectly for this card.   I used a blender pen and ink pads to water color the images.  If you haven’t tried  water coloring it’s a lot of fun and it takes me back to my childhood.  So relaxing.  It’s like I always say to my friends that think they are ordering way too much Stampin’ up products – “It’s cheaper than therapy.  You need this for your mental health”.  LOL  Here’s my card.

Hand Stamped Sentiments – Anything but a Card Challenge 17

This week’s challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments is Anything but a Card.   I am extending an invitation for you to come join us at HSS and post your creation.  Thanks for visiting!

I have been wanting to use the Daisy die so I created this cute gift box.  The template for this box is here.  I used my Big Shot to die cut the daisies and emboss the box.  I traced the leaves freehand and scored them in the middle.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Splash Challenge

This past Sunday the Olympics ended and to celebrate the athletes and the games over at Hand Stamped Sentiments we’re doing a color challenge with the graphic colors of these winter games – Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Glorious Green, Green Galore, Brilliant Blue.

I’m really liking My Digital Studio software.  I was also inspired by the Olympic rings so I created the circles for this card with the software then punched them out with SU 1-3/8″ circle punch then embellished them.  The card I created for this challenge would be perfect for a birthday or graduation.

Amidst Christmas is a Happy Birthday Wish!

It always seems that birthdays in December are a bit overshadowed by Christmas.  So in honor of my friends birthday, which was on December 21, I decided to make a card for her using her favorite colors Always Artichoke and Old Olive.  I added the gold and black for elegance.  I like the results.  I hope this provides inspiration for your December birthday cards. By the way I don’t think this year she felt her birthday overshadowed by Christmas.  Her birthday was very celebrated.  She received many gifts and some were from Stampin’ Up!
