A Poppy Moments Greeting

When I create a card inspiration comes from many sources.  For this week’s card I was inspired by the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and this week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge. I flipped the sketch and found a card in the catalog on page 178 as inspiration to create my Poppy Moments card.

I started with a Purple Posy card base then embossed Whisper White card stock with the Subtle 3D Embossing folder.  I love the texture this folder creates especially on Whisper White card stock because it makes the paper look like watercolor paper.  Using the Poppy Moments die set I die cut the poppy in Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.  I sponged Daffodil Delight ink on the white part of the poppy.  The centers I also die cut from Basic Black card stock, I also die cut two of the buds from Whisper White then sponged with Daffodil Delight and also die cut one in Daffodil Delight.  The leaves I die cut from Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green.  The butterfly I stamped in Momento Black from the Butterfly Gala stamp set then die cut with the Butterfly Duet punch then colored with Highland Heather and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.

The banner strips I cut from Gray Granite and Basic Gray card stock then snipped the ends of the Basic Gray one.  I sponged the banners, poppy centers and buds with Champagne Mist Shimmer paint for sparkle.  I also die cut Silver foil foliage using the Sprig punch.  I use this punch often to add these sprigs with other leaves.  I used tear and tape adhesive for the banners.  Dimensionals and glue dots to adhere leaves and poppies.  I also added basic rhinestones for more sparkle.   This card came together quickly.

Here is the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch.  Check out the link and see what the other designers have created.  I hope it inspires you to join us.
