I have been wanting to make a Halloween card with the Flight of Fancy stamp set and was inspired by the catalog sample and the sketch challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. I haven’t made a slim line card in a long time and thought it was the perfect time to make one . To refresh my memory I had help from Ana Helman. She has the dimensions and a tutorial on her blog. I started with Whisper White Heavy card stock base then a layer of Rich Razzleberry. The next Whisper White Heavy card stock layer I sponged with Gorgeous Grape then stamped with the stars, sentiment then heat embossed with gold. The cute witch image I stamped with Momento Black then used a blender pen with Rich Razzleberry and Petal Pink Blender pen for the face then fussy cut. I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Blends pen to color the stars and moon on her dress and hat. I also used the lighter of the black Blender pens to color her cute mouse companion. For the air stream behind the broom I stamped Vellum card stock with Versamark then heat embossed with gold embossing powder then fussy cut and adhered to the broom. I used dimensionals to pop her up and make her look like she’s hovering above the clouds. The clouds I die cut using the retired Up and Away Thinlits dies and the Tree of Life builder punch. I also cut free hand the first layer of clouds at the bottom of the card. The clouds I sponged with So Saffron as well as the moon.
Here’s the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments. Also, checkout the projects from the design team.
